Spending some time on this high klm LS1. Repaired some oil leaks, new water pump, a knock sensor, injectors cleaned and tested, tune up, engine mounts and some preventative maintenance carried out aswell. At the end of the day had a smooth running V8 ready for some future fun!

There are many opinions out there that believe timing chains are a set and forget. However through out my time as a mechanic I have learned that all parts in engines are subject to wear. Some sooner than others. This Volkswagen V6 diesel has just clicked over 200,000klm and had developed a noisy timing chain rattle. So this engine is getting a new set of chains, guides and some other issues looked at while the engine is out.

Running and maintaining a vehicle can be a pricey exercise. And depending on what vehicle you choose to drive the running costs varies. This job however shows that maintenance is important to having your vehicle performing at its best. This job was a manifold clean and valve adjust on an old 100 series landcruiser that is used to tow a caravan. The customer reported later on that the cruiser had much better towing performance and the fuel economy went from 22lt/100klm to 18lt/100klm when towing. Super happy with those fuel economy gains and improved performance.

It’s that time of the year when mice and rats seem to enjoy the warmth of engine bays and the food they offer. This mustang had a decent size rat make a nest and a mess of an injector and ignition coil wiring harnesses causing miss firing. But we had it up and running on all 8 cylinders in no time! Remember it’s a good idea to put some mice bait or something like that around this time of the year to prevent unnecessary breakdowns of your vehicle!

This poor small engine needed some TLC! It was over due for a service and had a leaking fuel pump causing it to use more fuel then necessary and the mess! With fuel prices on a consistent upward trend we find ourselves doing our best to save money at the pump. That generally means using the cheapest fuel we can find. Although it does help our pocket short term, it can put parts like your fuel injectors under more stress from lower quality fuels. This customer is having an in vehicle injector clean to help clean their injectors and valves to bring back that nice running engine again!

This vehicles front CV boot had split and made a mess! So removed the joint, disassembled,cleaned and inspected for contamination damage and wear. It was all good so reassembled with new grease and a boot kit and cleaned up the mess!
