For many young people, obtaining a driver’s license is a vital step toward independence. It is a milestone we were proud to help Mike* achieve through our L2P program.

Mike joined the program while at a local school, eager to gain his driver’s license, but facing significant anxiety and trauma stemming from past road accidents his family had been involved in.

Our L2P Coordinator, Aaron*, spent a great deal of time talking through these fears with Mike, creating a supportive space to build his skills at a pace that felt safe. They began with professional lessons in quiet areas to establish a foundation of confidence and control. Aaron then continued these quiet practice sessions, gradually introducing more complex road situations while frequently explaining and comparing scenarios to ease Mike’s anxiety. Even after Mike finished school, they kept the momentum going, eventually tackling busy inner-town traffic and longer drives to neighbouring towns.

All of that persistence and courage paid off in January 2026 when Mike passed his driving test on his very first attempt. Mike was completely blown away by his own achievement. It’s transformative moments like this that make us feel so proud to be part of the L2P team.

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years on the Road! 🎉

Wow — time really does fly!
It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since I started Riverside Driving School back in 2016.
What began as a side hustle while working full-time as a nurse has grown into something I absolutely love — and I couldn’t have done it without my family and this amazing community. ❤️

Over the years, life has brought its twists and turns — including three maternity leaves — and now I operate on flexible, family-friendly hours, teaching in automatic vehicles.

I’m so proud of the reputation I’ve built: kind, caring, patient, and understanding, especially with anxious drivers.
Lately, I’ve found my true calling working with neurodivergent students, and I genuinely can say this job doesn’t feel like work — it’s a rewarding career I’m passionate about every single day.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to help them gain their freedom on the road. Here’s to the next 10 years! 🚗💨

*** We understand the rising cost of living, and it's not always financially possible to book a driving instructor for a lesson and the test on the day.
If its within your budget, 1-2 driving lessons in the weeks prior to your drive test can still set you up with the insight, skills and knowledge needed to pass.

If you are wanting a driving instructor and their vehicle for the day of your test, DO NOT book unless you have checked their availability first.
There is a booking fee of around $73 to Vicroads, and then X amount if you need to change the day/time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Effective from September 17th 2025, I have altered my cancelation policy.

I completely understand that sometimes life happens and things pop up that are out of our control.
All I ask is a minimum of 12 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If it’s less than 12 hours, the full fee will apply.

Thanks so much for your understanding—it helps me keep things running smoothly, and being able to re-offer appointment times to other clients waiting.
