Just because you can't see water damage doesn't mean it's not there. 💧

Moisture has a nasty habit of travelling through your caravan, soaking into timber, insulation and wall cavities, often without leaving any obvious signs.

That's where moisture mapping comes in.

At RV Leaks, we use specialised moisture detection equipment to identify areas where moisture may be hiding and map out how far it has spread.

Because finding a leak is one thing. Understanding the damage it's already caused is another.

The longer moisture goes undetected, the greater the risk of mould, timber rot and expensive repairs.

Don't wait until the damage becomes visible.

This might look okay to some people.

BUT the real caravan enthusiasts know that water and moisture travel.

Once moisture gets into a wall cavity, it can soak into anything that absorbs it.

Timber.
Ply.
Insulation.

And the damage usually doesn't happen overnight.

It starts small. A little moisture here. A damp section there.

Then over time, it builds.

Before you know it, you are dealing with full-blown rot, damaged panels and a HUGE repair bill.

Do not wait until the damage becomes visible.

Get your caravan leak tested before a small problem turns into a very expensive one.

I’ve spent around 16 years working in and around the caravan manufacturing industry.

Over that time, I’ve seen just about every type of caravan you can think of.

Different brands. Different builds. Different materials. Different price points.

But there’s always been one problem that keeps showing up.

Leaks.

And after seeing things from the manufacturing side, I don’t necessarily believe it’s always the manufacturer doing something wrong.

Caravans move.

They flex.

They vibrate for thousands of kilometres.

They sit through heat, rain, cold, UV and everything Australian weather can throw at them.

At the same time, manufacturers are trying to build caravans at a price people can actually afford, while dealing with labour costs, material costs and production time.

Building something that stays completely watertight for its entire life is incredibly difficult.

Not yet, anyway.

That’s why I believe maintenance is so important.

Sealants deteriorate. Joints move. Screws loosen. Moulds separate. Tiny gaps can appear where there were none before.

And the scary part is, most leaks don’t announce themselves straight away.

Water can slowly work its way into timber, insulation and ply for months before you ever smell dampness or notice a soft wall.

That’s why I take sealing seriously.

Because I’ve seen what water can do behind the walls of a caravan, and the cost of preventing a leak is nothing compared to the cost of repairing one.

Your caravan doesn’t need to look damaged to be leaking.

Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is find the problem before you can see it.

A cracked window frame on this caravan was causing a massive leak straight into the wall cavity.

And that’s where the real damage starts.

Rot. Mould. Damp smells. Water damage.

All building up behind the walls without the owner even knowing.

By the time the signs become obvious, you could already be looking at a huge repair bill.

Get your caravan leak tested before a small leak turns into a much bigger headache.

This is something we see far too often.

Poor silicone and sealing around external wiring and fittings had allowed a significant amount of water to enter this caravan.

Over time, moisture had built up inside the roof and side panel cavities, eventually causing the panels to soften and dampness to appear inside the van.

By the time the customer noticed the signs, the leak had already been doing damage behind the scenes.

Water leaks are not always obvious straight away. That is why regular leak testing is so important.

If you are noticing dampness, soft panels or anything that does not feel right, get it checked before the damage gets worse.

WHEN DID YOU LAST CHECK YOUR WHEEL BEARINGS?

Wheel bearings are an important part of your caravan or motorhome. Regular checks can help identify wear, damage or lack of lubrication before it becomes a bigger problem.

Signs your bearings may need attention:
• Grinding or unusual noises
• Excessive wheel movement
• Overheating around the wheel
• Uneven tyre wear
• Grease leaking from the hub

Regular bearing inspections and servicing can help keep your caravan or motorhome safe and road-ready.

How cool is this caravan!

European built and designed. Fantastic engineering.

The customer brought it in because it's part of their warranty to get it leak tested.

guess what... NO LEAKS!

Nothing fancy, no BS "special solution". Just a high-end car wash that gets the job done finding leaks, without leaving your caravan with streaks or damage.
