We’re Hiring – Metal Fabricator / Vehicle Body Builder

Are you an experienced Metal Fabricator looking for a role where no two days are the same?

Obieco Industries is looking for a skilled Metal Fabricator / Vehicle Body Builder to join our manufacturing team in Tamworth.

You’ll be working across a variety of custom builds including truck bodies, trays, tippers, crane trucks, grain bins, fleet canopies and specialised vehicle solutions.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Trade qualifications
• Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills
• Experience with mild steel, with aluminium highly regarded
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• A strong focus on quality and safety
• Forklift licence desirable

Big news!

Obieco has acquired Norsk.co Pty Ltd, effective 1 July.

This is a big step forward for both businesses. Norsk.co will now operate as Obieco’s premium aluminium offering, bringing greater resources, expanded capability, and new opportunities while maintaining the same high standards and quality Norsk.co customers are used to, and giving Obieco customers access to a premium aluminium range.

All current builds will continue as planned with no disruption. The Norsk.co team remains in place, and we’ll keep delivering the same tough, reliable trays and canopies you know them for.

Obieco presents the Hiab 228 E-5 Hiduo crane truck, engineered for reliable performance. This model offers a maximum lift capacity of 5300kg and a maximum reach of 15 metres, providing the strength and precision required for heavy lifting operations.
The vehicle is equipped with a 7800mm long flatbed, featuring shipping container pins fitted into the floor for secure transport. It also includes four toolboxes to maximise onboard storage capacity. Built to council specifications, the Hiab 228 E-5 Hiduo is well-suited for local government projects, construction work, and commercial transport needs.

Built for flexibility and easy on-site unloading!

This Obieco flatbed is fitted with removable gates, giving operators the versatility to handle a wide range of loads with ease. Paired with an Obieco forklift mount, this setup allows for quick and simple mounting and unmounting of the forklift - making deliveries more convenient.

Our team have done it again!

There is something special about working with a client to bring their dream to life, and boy did we enjoy manufacturing this!

Our client wanted his fuel tank from his previous tray repurposed and built to fit so our team worked their magic to make it happen.

And what about the merlot special mix paint finish….yep you guessed it, all done in house too.

No filters needed for this Volvo with Effer 395 crane!

Packing a punch with a maximum lifting capacity of 7.36 tonne and a maximum reach of 14.5 metres, it has been our pleasure to build four of these units for our national based customer.

Our vehicle body specialists have built this tray with hard work in mind. The customer needed a Maxilift ML50 to make their life easier whilst undertaking the daily tasks required of the job.
