Austin Tourist Park Award winning Tamworth tourist park with a range of cabin accommodation, powered and unpowered sites! We have a range of accommodation to suit any budget.

The Austin Tourist Park is a family owned and operated business situated on 10 acres on the banks of the Peel River at Tamworth. The park is just 7 minutes from the main street of Tamworth on the New England Highway (sometimes marked as Armidale Road). Our cabin range start at our Standard Cabins without an ensuite, suitable for the budget conscious traveller, up to our spacious Holiday Cabins suitable with all linen provided to the beds, an ensuite and a well-equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher and stove. We can accommodate every size of caravan, motorhome or tent on our powered and unpowered drive-thru and riverside grassy sites. Our facilities include a swimming pool, a 7 day, coin operated laundry with washing machines and dryers, playground, and a dump point. Across the road is a Caltex Service station that offers basic groceries, as well as fuel and gas.

Clear a little space in the Christmas calendar…
The Great Austin Water Fight is happening 18th–24th December!
We're creating a week where you can arrive, unpack, let the kids loose and enjoy the lead-up to Christmas without having to entertain everyone every five minutes. 😂
There'll be organised activities, plenty happening around the park and time to simply hang out and enjoy being away together.
GAWF event stays are 3 nights or more, so you don't have to stay for the entire week to join us.
Come for a few days. Stay longer if Christmas at Austin sounds like your kind of Christmas.

SURPRISE! Here's why things have been moving at Austin! 🏡🎉

Remember when we told you Cabins 43 and 44 had packed their bags and moved across the park?

Well… we can finally show you what all that shuffling was about! 👀

WE HAVE A NEW CABIN! 🤩

And not just any cabin… this beauty has THREE separate units!

But getting her into place was no small task!

First, we had to clear the space where Cabins 43 and 44 once stood. Then came the groundwork and preparations for her arrival.

And Wednesday, after quite the journey, our newest addition made her grand entrance at Austin!

Watching a cabin of this size make its way through the park was something else. There were some tight turns, plenty of careful manoeuvring and a fair bit of excitement as she was guided into position.

And just like that… another big piece of the Austin puzzle is in place! 🧩

Of course, there's still plenty of work to do before she's ready to welcome guests, but we're pretty excited about what this addition means for the future of our little park.

We're always looking for ways to improve, grow and make Austin an even better place to stay — and this is a pretty big step!

We'll be taking you along for the journey as our newest addition comes to life.

So… what exactly IS The Great Austin Water Fight?
Despite the name, it's not just one enormous water fight. 😉
We're taking the week before Christmas, adding some good old-fashioned summer holiday fun, throwing in a healthy dose of silliness and creating a few days where families can play, laugh and actually do things together.
Some things will get you wet.
Some things will get competitive.
Some things will be very Christmassy.
And some things we're not telling you about just yet. 👀

Well… we did say things were moving at Austin! 😳🏡🏗️
Last week, Cabin 44 made the first part of her journey across the park and settled into a temporary spot on one of our drive-through sites.
Today came Part Two.
With a rather large helping hand from the team at Aldridge’s, Cabin 44 took to the skies! 😲
She was carefully lifted up, over and into her new temporary home on Site 24 — and yes, there were definitely a few of us watching with slightly held breath as an entire cabin floated through Austin!
A huge thank you to the crew from Aldridge’s for making a pretty impressive job look remarkably smooth.
Cabin 44 is now safely back on solid ground, and another piece of the puzzle is in place as some bigger changes around Austin continue to take shape.
There’s still plenty more happening behind the scenes… 👀

Okay… NOW we can tell you!

All those little clues we've been dropping? The swimmers. The towels. The sunscreen. And that suspicious amount of water…

They were all leading to this.

💦 THE GREAT AUSTIN WATER FIGHT! 💦

From 18th–24th December, we're doing Christmas a little differently at Austin.

There'll be water. There'll be Christmas fun. There'll be plenty for the kids — and yes, the big kids are absolutely allowed to join in too. 😉

Over the next few weeks, we'll start revealing exactly what we've got planned.

For now, just remember one thing…
