Last month, our Marketing and ESG Coordinator, Maddison Mangan, took a trip back to the Northern Territory to take part in the NASCA NT Program. This was her third year participating in the program, which has become very close to her heart. She had the opportunity to revisit the community of Epenarra (Wuntungurra) and reconnect with the wonderful children, teachers, and community members.
"As always, this week was nothing short of enlightening, grounding, emotional, and inspiring. I'm sure there are a million other words to describe the emotions that not only I, but the entire crew who took part in the trip, felt, but these are just a few.
To the children in the community, your wonder, zest for life, and can-do attitude are things I will hold close to my heart forever. There were so many small moments of connection and shared learning that I'll never forget.
Having the opportunity to gain a glimpse into the lives of Indigenous Australians in a remote community is something few people get to experience. It is so important to understand how we can help, even in the smallest of ways.
I encourage everyone to get involved and support the work of NASCA, whether through donating or volunteering in the future. You won't regret it." – Maddison
