A short time ago we were tasked with the after paint stages of this Datsun 510.

After a Full Custom Respray by in a rich pearl white blend it was over to us to carry out a full wet sand paint correction to improve overall paint texture, clarity and gloss whilst removing any paint defects such as dust spots and other minor imperfections that occur during the painting process.

Is wet sanding safe ? When done correctly wet sanding is a great method to remove stubborn defects and texture only when there is enough paint on the vehicle to allow for sanding. Wet sanding is mainly reserved for show car resprays and restorations where clients are looking for a flat mirror finish with deep gloss.

At Benzin Motorsports we have the industry experience not only to carry out the finest level of detailing techniques but the knowledge and experience to fine tune paint to another level through the process of paint correction and other techniques which are often looked past by many modern day pop up detailing and ceramic coating applicators.

What did the team at Benzin Motorsports do to this Brilliant Blue beast?

We were tasked with performing a Used Car Paint Correction + Ceramic Coating Detail Package, and delivered nothing short of excellence — inside and out.

We began with our signature 21-stage pre-correction wash & decontamination, stripping away road grime, bonded contaminants, and dirt buildup from daily use.
Next, we masked all sensitive trims and plastics before commencing a 2-stage paint correction — starting with a heavy cutting pass to remove swirls, scratches, and surface scuffs, followed by a finesse polish to enhance gloss, clarity, and create a flawless base for coating.

The cabin received a full deep clean — leather, plastics, and anodised trim surfaces were treated with a multi-stage deep cleanse process. Fabrics were shampooed, and the entire interior was finished with a complete interior protection package.

We applied 2 layers of TAC System Ceramic Coating to all painted surfaces, glass, plastics, and carbon fibre components — locking in that deep gloss and providing long-lasting, low-maintenance protection for years to come.
