Hi everyone, it’s been a while.
We’ve had some big changes over the last year and are now a brick and mortar workshop in Hornsby.

🏎Honda EG2 92’ CRX Del Sol🏎

This relatively clean EG2 came to us with the following issues

❌ Overheating
❌ Constant topping up of coolant
❌ Blowing smoke
❌ Steering feels odd
❌ ABS light constantly on

Plan of attack starting with the overheating complaints, we’ve carried out a basic TK test, found that combustion was making its way into the cooling system. The owner has already gone ahead replacing most of the cooling system and to no avail it has not rectified the issue.
Removed the cylinder head to find that the OEM head gasket had been reused, the head was slightly warped, the deck was not flat and had been “sanded” unevenly by hand and the sleeves had deteriorated.
Suspension wasn’t too flash, OSF LCA was missing its main assembly bolt causing the steering geometry to fall out and the NSF UCA was missing nuts on the bushes.
ABS pump has completely died, plan is to delete this in the future.

We’ve carried out the following

✅ Replaced all missing suspension fasteners
✅ Obtained a B18B2 block
✅ LSVTEC conversion (owner wanted a little more power to suit budget)
✅ Cometic MLS head gasket
✅ BC Adj cam gears
✅ ARP2000 head studs
✅ ARP2000 rod bolts
✅ Supertech valve stem seals
✅ New piston rings
✅ ACL Race Series bearings
✅ All new gaskets
✅ Thermostat
✅ Hondata S300 w/Bluetooth
✅ Fitted the original B16A2 head
✅ Decked block and resurfaced the cylinder head

Next step is the standard running in of the engine and then head of to the tuners.

This absolutely clean example of a relatively rare Corolla has made its way here for its major service along with some minor repairs.

✅ - Spark plugs, 43 thou gapped
✅ - Timing belt with tensioner & spring
✅ - Water pump and housing O Rings
✅ - Cam,Half moon, crank seals
✅ - Rocker cover gasket set
✅ - Thermostat and housing seal and Radiator cap
✅ - 80a Alternator
✅ - Front CV axle boot replacement

In common early Toyota fashion, this one should see another 200,000+kms🥳

We ended up finding time to get back into the BAH EG.
During the tuning process recently, the Walbro 460LPH pump and lines saw their limits.
Will be making a start on addressing this by changing over to a “staged” pump setup on top with: changing the fuel return and feed hard lines to PTFE 8AN, in-line 8AN check valves, Grams G2-05-0100 Dual pump hanger, 2 Grams G51-99-0320 320LPH pumps , custom fuel pump relay harnesses (triggered by the Haltech’s DPO) and finally a handful of 150PSI TI pressure sensors for data logging and actual values.

🏎Update on the RS250 Megane.🏎

✅Carried out a Major Service
✅Diagnosed the rattle, transmission mount completely failed, transmission resting on subframe (see last photo), replaced engine and trans mount.
✅AC Inoperative, compressor clutch internally imploded, removed front end of vehicle, R/R compressor
✅1.5mm of brake of lining remaining on the front and rear, discs under minimum thickness, carried out replacement of front discs, front pads and rear pads.

Another car out the door in better condition than it arrived.

Just arrived, This Megane has come in for a major service, excessive rattle on start up and clutch engagement, AC inoperative and ABS light is illuminated.

Little change of pace here, from a few classic Japanese vehicles , a hand full of German ones and now onto something French.

Just arrived, this example of a first gen accord recently undergone some maintenance and work for historic rego.
Wewill be doing the advisory valve lash adjustment and diagnosing rear suspension noises.
Were seeing more of these classic Hondas come through, it’s good to know that there are still people out there giving these cars another chance.

Another Nissan has dropped past for some electrical gremlins, this time in a 180SX.

Quick diag job on this turbocharged N14 Ti

❌No Power to fuel pump
❌No CAS input/output
❌ECCS Relay inop

Quick checks found a burnt tracing on the ECU circuit board, along with an open circuit on the diode sitting on the affected trace.
Prior to the visit, a Z32 AFM was fitted however the shielding wire was not attached, AFM/MAF wiring conversion also may have tripped/shorted having the battery still connected hence the ECU frying one of its traces and blowing a diode.
Also found some grounds to be slightly loose followed by some relay box connectors with slight corrosion.

✅Replacement ECU with Nistune fitted
✅Repaired AFM wiring
✅Cleaned and reattached grounds
✅Cleaned and treated corroded pins on affected connectors.

Bridged the Consult port, code 55 is present which signifies no faults within the ECU.
