Project 851 nears delivery - a fine Saturday morning test ride confirming that the bike is ready for action. This has been a very pleasing project and big thumbs up to the owner who really supported the work.
This is one of those bikes that can only go up (significant) in value while delivering a knock out riding experience.

SurfSide Motorcycle Garage looks after vehicles made to run on dinosaur juice.
Therefore it should come as no surprise that we have dinosaur sized visitors and Saturday was no exception with the mighty 327 kg, 100 bhp, 1,500 cc Honda Valkyrie and the 2,250 kg, 208 bhp, 7,200 cc Lincoln Continental MK 5 dropping by.
Gasoline is a bit like life if you don't use it while it's there it is a waste.

Released in 1982 to celebrate Eddie Lawson's 1981 and 1982 AMA Superbike series wins the iconic green replica found a ready audience. Looking sharp with the GPz1100 tank and ducktail and a bright green paint job these bikes were not GSX level fast but they were, and continue to be, great fun to ride and have a loyal collector following that keeps the prices well up.
The popularity of the bike saw it have a second run with the release of the ZXR1200 in the early 2000's. Fast, simple, stable and good looking - they make a great everyday classic.

Double Dukes & a tale of lost lovers reunited.
We have two Ducati Darmah's in the workshop - one ready for a new home after many happy years and one replacing a long stolen bike upon which a marriage proposal was accepted.
The human stories that intertwine with the kilometres these bikes rack up makes their ownership as much an emotional journey as a physical one.

Going back to ride and maybe buy an example of a bike you really enjoyed is like trying to rekindle an old romance. Sometimes it is meant to be, sometimes the moment has passed.
I've always had a thing about Moto Guzzi Le Mans motorcycles after owning one for 5 years back in the early 00's. After 22 years it was time to think about scratching that itch.
A tidy example is on the market - not stock but Guzzi's are meant to be improved. I met up with the owner and the bike was stacking up nicely. It fired up well and the offer of a test ride was eagerly accepted.
My memory was right - the Le Mans is a brutal piece of highway magic - brilliant exhaust note, hard acceleration and planted handling.
Is it in my garage - no. Why? My knees are 22 years older and a big day on the road would not be good at all.
I guess the takeaway is enjoy whatever you ride right now - the moment is most likely a one off.
