Only a company like Honda can have a model range that extends from the Postie to the Fury
Yes this is a factory Honda - the Fury VT1300CX - a full on factory custom with 38 degrees of front rake (27 degrees on the Postie), a 5 speed box and shaft drive. The 1300 cc v twin makes good grunt and the Fury rides well on the road despite it's 300 or so kgs.
If you can put aside traditional custom preferences this is a very sharp metric cruiser with a unique road presence - well done Honda.

Suzuki's much loved RGV250 had a 10 year production run (88-98) which saw a lot of riders get their racing stripes on this wild 2 stroke.
Light (150 kg ish), fast (200 kmph), and with a 6 speed box once these bikes hit their powerband at 8,000 rpm you had to be ready to go ballistic. Good examples are hard to find these days so it was a pleasant trip down memory lane when this black beauty rolled into the shop.

Our latest project is on the bench - a frame up refresh of one of the best big Suzuki's of the 1980's - the GS1100G.
Making around 92 horsepower the big shaft drive tourer could plant quarter mile times in 12 second range ( the same as a Ferrari F40) but it's real magic happens on the open road.
With a 22 litre tank feeding the four 34 mm carbs and 2 valve engine 290 to 340 km is achievable in great comfort.
Generations of rally goers have piloted these heavy duty bikes across Australia - plenty with sidecars and tents in tow.
The new owner's brief is simple get the bike ready for its next lap of Australia and/or any other adventure that is created round the bbq and a few beers.

The Honda CB1300 back in 2005 came with a standard 114 bhp from its 1,284 cc DOHC four. At 250 kg wet it was big but also fast.
I was riding with a bloke who was on one of these when he opened up and took off like the Space Shuttle. We caught up at the next gas station and he dryly observed that the dealer has told him the bike was good for 240 kmph and he was pleased to report that this was indeed correct.
