The gazillion laser cut brackets required to convert the stock C1 chassis to take the fully independent C4 suspension and steering. The transverse springs are replaced with fully adjustable coilovers to complete the perfect ride 😎 The steering is converted to RHD also.
I needed to get a custom slip roller from the USA beefy enough to roll the 2.5mm steel.

The jig locates all the brackets and keeps everything true.

It came off in my hand honest govnr 🥴
There was no saving this front end, made up from bits of various cars and a few replacement panels all held together with chewing gum and string 🫤
Hopefully the new one will last another 64 years 👍

Rumours of my retirement have been greatly exaggerated 😂 the new workshop is officially open and lots of exciting projects underway 😎It’s currently Corvette central with a few BMW’s squeezing in later in the year 🚗

It’s hard not to like the lines of the C1 Corvette, however the drive for me left me feeling a little underwhelmed. So I set about making the driving experience far more pleasurable. The heart of it is the chassis, heavily modified (and engineered) to take the late C4 fully independent suspension, coilovers and mounts for a late engine and transmission combo. The whole result is 3D scanned, CAD drawings produced of the 40+ brackets required and a jig fabricated to ensure its all laser straight.
