Really enjoying the opportunity to look through my in-laws collection of photos and memorabilia from Mike’s time and many years as part of the Sydney speedway scene.

The nerd in me appreciates seeing the evolution of engineering in race cars over the years leading us to where we are today, but the race fan in me gets a kick out of seeing the personalities that help shape our sport.

Looking forward to seeing speedway locally thrive in the coming years.

Our sport can be many things and the recent shutting down of speedway in Sydney (albeit temporary) can lead one to focusing on the negatives.

However the current scenario has reminded us of silver linings and that's people like this guy - Ray Healey - and his amazing crew at Cullen Bullen Raceway.

Ray and his wife Sue are President, Secretary and Treasurer of Portland District Motor Sport Club and along with Brett and Kim Schmidlin, Shane Duggan and a handful of other dedicated souls, they've got Cullen Bullen Raceway looking a treat and ready to host another great night of racing.

There are folks like Ray, Sue, Brett, Kim and Shane all over the country giving back to the racing community.......We want to thank them for their efforts and let them know that it's a pleasure being able to enjoy some country race track hospitality.
