HENSPerformance HensPerformance loves to build Mirages and Lancers (Mirage in Japan/USA/NZ) and turn them into totally something else.

We take the philosophy from the Mirage Cyborg and Lancer EVO and push envelope of a road going track car. Building from the ground and everything from suspension packages, brakes, power, fuel systems, engine management and tuning to make your vehicle be the fastest out there on the track.

Motivational post. Customers 4G93 1.8 litre SINGLE CAM build making 272kw at the wheels, running our 9.5cr forged piston combination with bigger wrist pins and 274 stage 3 cam, MLS head gasket, ARP Head studs, GTX2867R Gen2 making great power on an entry level 22psi boost, running Link G4+ ECU. One of our Mirage turbo projects from 2018. It was a complete reshell from a written off red hatch. The car had a turbo setup done and couldnt even drive down the street. Came with AFR pegged at 10.0. Stalled if you even thought about putting the foot into it. Car would make 3psi boost and pop piping and joiners. Piping will rub anything and everything. Previous 1.8 swap had every clip cut off nothing put in its place. Some loom just duct tape back on. The Viper alarm install was definately done to make you run for the hills but still to refit into donor vehicle was doable. All piping redone to new setup with EVO9 intecooler. Before you could fit a shoe between the front pipe and oil pan, made up big dump pipe 2.75inch into a 3inch front pipe tucked up. Few things left as supplied 2nd hand, fake TIAL MVS 38mm (blew up on circuit first session), 2.5 cat back modified to fit 3 inch EVO cat.

-Haltech ecu full flex fuel E85 or any E% to E0 (with engine protection setup)
-Flex fuel ethanol content sensor
-new AEM wideband
-840cc injectors decapped
-181kw atw only on 10psi wastegate spring creeps to 11psi (safetune)
-baffled catch can setup dual dash6 breathers
-264 cam 10mm lift (came with car)
-upgraded valve springs (came with car)
-Garrett GT2860RS disco potato 0.86 turbine housing
-Speedflow oil feed filter setup
-3inch intake into alloy airbox
-Genuine TIAL MVS 38mm (replaced with Genuine after track shakedown ending before 11am)
-our 2.75 inch dump pipe
-our 3 inch front pipe
-our decat 3inch
-Modified supplied 2.5 cat back exhaust (mad restriction)
-solid exhaust hangers
-Genuine exedy EVO3 clutch
-Ralliart harder solid rubber engine mounts
-our custom clutch slave cylinder to allow bleeding
-Walbro 255 without butchering cradle and denting the tank
-hardwired neatly with crimped pins into OE 2x heavy duty connector and 2x TYCO relays. ready for extra surge tank setup
-big boy custom 13row oil cooler setup with thermostat all Speedflow hose/fittings, our fancy bracket setup
-slightly rolled guards
-Buddy Club 15x8 supplied with Hancook RS3 and Federal RSR-R tyres
-Front brake upgrade to twin piston refreshed sliding pins
-Intima SR pads
-Mutuki forged steel wheel nuts
-pressed in Superpro trailing arm bush
-alignment to our specs

4G93 1.8 single cam CE Lancer coupe thats here for turbo setup fully engineered and emissions tested. 2.75inch dump pipe. Turbosmart wastegate with flex (for heat expansion) with smooth high flowing merge into 3inch front pipe, into 3 inch cat back. Even made in 2 piece like OEM bolt on future ease of removal/service.
Done in house to have max ground clearance (8mm gap to oil pan and finger gaps to heat shields/chassis and best fitment. Long boy resonator, Magnaflow rear muffler, evo 456 cat. Also done to clear 18mm rear swaybar setup which is tight fit. Sounds perfect.

Another bulletproof build by Henry. Now running a Haltech Elite full flex fuel, its setup with boost by gear (6psi 1st - 2nd, 10psi 3rd - 5th) with some delicious e85 goodness, engine oil cooler with thermostat, surge tank in the boot, and other goodies.
Time to finish off a few small details and get some track time.

In 2017 there aren't too many mint condition Mirage Cyborg RS  but here's one a little west from Kyoto Japan.

Getting hands dirty since the day we went to get the car for $300 with a dead battery and fuel on empty. The 4g15 came with a free spun bearing and then snapped crank pulley. A budget choice led to 4g93 ce lancer non turbo engine bundled with a standalone megasquirt 3 ecu. Now a standard engine turbo beast. Henry taking care of many all engine management, setup fuel system plumbing, wiring and tuning duties the engine makes a sensible 220kw at the treads. It was all worth it in the end. One of the fastest cars out of 30 cars on track. A red mirage putting down a best 1:06.0 on Wakefield Park
Credit to the driver, owner and everyone who worked on the car over the past 5 years.
Mitsubishi fans should be proud.
