Looking to get the best out of your Toyota Diesel? This one's for you!
Here we take a look at the tuning process using the Just Autos EasyTune software platform on a 2023 2.8 Gen3 N80 Toyota Hilux.

EasyTune can include driver selectable Multi-mapping (Immobiliser, Winch Idle-up, Stock Tune, Tow Tune, Performance Tune, Lumpy Idle Performance tune!), Gearbox adjustments as well as Low and High Speed Torque Converter lockup, All on the factory computer - This means no old school extra control boxes, and no cut wiring!

Toyota Landcruiser 79 Series 4.5TDThese things are pretty lazy out of the box, but with a Clutch and a Tune they go like they should!

But, take a look at these two power graphs, they both make 150kw of power at the wheels, but check out the torque! One tune makes 516Nm while the other makes 610Nm.
The red graph would be a great cruiser with excellent fuel economy, but would still have the power when you put your foot down, while the black graph gives us as much grunt down low as we can get and is more suited to towing a heavy load

Isuzu D-Max 2013 3.0TD 4JJ1 engine
The old workhorse is back on the dyno for a freshen up after replacing the leaking EGR cooler. We spent some time refining the low down torque so she's more suited to towing a heavy caravan.
These things tune up great, picking up 182nm of torque and 31kw and power.

If you have a D-Max be sure to keep an eye on your engine coolant levels, if you notice it losing coolant the EGR cooler is likely the culprit and should be replaced urgently (before the engine runs out of coolant and overheats)
