This weekend was a very successful weekend for Flatout Services. No wins, but very happy customers.
Bill and Spiro Perdikaris brought their Capri in about 12 months ago by way of a referral from mutual good friend Terry Cartwright. Flatout Services supplied and fitted front and mid engine plates for the Ford Windsor engine and rear transmission mount. The rear end needed an upgrade but had to be contained under the seat area so the already narrowed factory rails were plated and triangulated for strength and tubular crossmembers added to accommodate the Flatout Services designed and supplied chromoly noprep/radial four link brackets and 4 point track locator. Terry Cartwright built the housing with integral swaybar to his usual very high standards and then the affected area was covered in new sheetmetal. After a couple of test hits at Sydney Dragway a few weeks ago Spiro piloted the car to a 10.2 this weekend at the no prep event at Cootamundra Airstrip.
Dave Muscat has been unbeatable lately in his beautiful Shane's Chassis built Mazda R100. Flatout Services has been working with Dave for the last 18 months in an effort to extract the most out of it. After some successful changes to the four link we turned our attention to the front end. A new set of struts were built to get more weight transfer to the rear resulting in some spectacular wheels up launches on the tricky Cootamundra surface. Dave ran a 9.0@162 that stood briefly as the quickest 2WD pass ever at that track. Dave is a real thinker and very hands on and has a few more tricks up his sleeve so watch out for some even quicker times next time out.
Flatout Services would also like to congratulate Gina Bullians on her fantastic 7.09@193 licensing pass in Mick Grunbaum's Pro Stock Camaro. Thank you Mick for allowing me to play a very small part in this achievement and good luck to you and Gina in the future
