Joshua's S2000 is a little different, as it has the smaller high boost pulley from HKS.
This allows for boost to build earlier in the RPM range, with the trade-off being a lower RPM limit due to overspinning the supercharger.
First dyno sheet shows before and after the TLR touch.
Power peaks just over 8000RPM.
After that, the supercharger no longer builds boost and just blows hot air.
Despite this, the previous tuner set the limiter to 9600RPM 😳
Second dyno sheet is a comparison to Justin's S2000, which was tuned around the same time.
Is this better than the standard pulley setup, which revs to 9000RPM?

This R32 came in chasing more power and response.
A wise decision was made to add some cam gears to the mix.
Swipe across to see the difference that a small cam gear adjustment makes!
We gave up a tiny bit of top end for gains in the middle, perfect for this R32 drift car
Should make for a fun car to slide around on track (or Mexico 🀭)

Not sure why my phone decided it had astigmatism this day.
It must have been starstruck by the awesome looks of the NSX.
I was a bit nervous pressing PageUp on such a legendary car.
The V6 VTEC engine responded very well to my cautious keystrokes.
The result was a nice flat torque curve and linear power peaking at 165kw.
This works very well with the long gearing of the NSX.
Not bad for a stock engine with just a pod filter and catback exhaust.

How much power did Honda leave on the table with an S2000?
As you can see, there's quite a lot of midrange and top end gained with a simple intake, exhaust, and tune.
The car drives well and pulls hard all the way to redline now.
In absolute numbers, it's a small number increase, but percentage-wise, it's around 15% more power in VTEC, which is definitely noticeable!
It's worth noting that the final power figure was the lowest it would read after it was heatsoaked.
With the bonnet open and fresh air available to the intake, it would make an extra 10kw.
Either way, it's a whole lot of fun to drive!

✨️ One Year Transformation ✨️
A little over a year ago, I purchased a bone stock AP1.
It was definitely a change coming from a 300kw S15 πŸ˜‚
They drive great in stock form, but you start to notice a lack of torque once you put some wheels on them.
So naturally, I put a ECU in to see if we could extract some more power.
I was privileged to test out a pre-release Nexus S2.
This unit is so cool.
It's got onboard wideband and Wi-Fi!
No more digging for a cable to connect up for a quick change in the tune.
I had to make my own PNP adapter, but now there's an off the shelf offering from Haltech.
A Syltech combo sensor was added for oil pressure and temp engine protection as I'd be pushing the engine on the track.
I spent the last year testing parts, and seeing the results was quite surprising.

After I did a bit of pre-dyno setup, a tensioner started making noise.
Ibby decided that the best way to fix that was to install an HKS GT2 supercharger πŸ˜‚
We did our signature work, giving it a flex fuel tune.
The DBW pedal vs. throttle opening was mapped to make it super responsive down low.
Interestingly, a throttle opening of 80% yielded the most power up top.
Engine management is a Elite 1500

Small but mighty.
Kye's CA18 powered Datto ute was such a cool car to work on.
It had a Wolf ECU, which we updated to a Elite 1500
This involved swapping the CAS as the Wolf ECU used a unique trigger pattern.
The previous tune was actually quite good, but Kye has a few plans for the future, which required a more capable control unit.
The dyno sheet sheet shows the before and after.
With the Haltech, we were able to dial in the boost curve and make a good amount more power and torque safely.
The car pulls really well all the way to redline now.
210kw is more than enough considering this only weighs about 800kgs!

Another HKS GT2 supercharged S2000.
I guess you could say I specialise in these πŸ˜‚
The good thing about tuning many of these is that the tune becomes more refined each time.
This one has a cool Amuse Widebody kit.
I wish I'd taken more photos of it.
Once again, the car was prepped by
Elite 1500 in control.

Jonathan's "EK2RS"
A standard D16 EK Civic is a fairly simple car.
What they lack in straight line acceleration they make up with by having good handling and a fun driving feel.
Jonathan has fixed the straight line part by adding a turbo onto his clean EK1
The stock engine with over 270,000 kms absolutely loves the positive pressure.
It made 135kw on 12psi running E85.
That's about double what they came with from the factory!
Normally, I aim for a linear boost curve, but this setup has a manual boost controller.
The torque graph reflects the boost curve achieved.
It'd be smoother if the ECU was doing boost control.
Nonetheless, this was an excellent result from a car well built by Jonathan himself.
The best part is that it's all documented on his YouTube channel.
