Another one in the works, this time an old ford f600, later chassis, later diesel, with all the mod cons you need (ac and power steering). 4.5gvm, a proper work truck!
If you will permit me a rant - I think people are starting to get what we are trying to do here. New cars are junk, modern diesel espeically you are lucky if you get 100,000km out of them, i cant tell you how many requests i get to LS/barra swap late model rangers, landcruisers and alike that have had catastropic engine failures after a few years. The engine capacities are too small, many 2-3L motors pulling 3T trucks with 3T trailers.
Furthermore these motors are so choked up with polution gear they can barely breath out of either end.... And nowadays manifacturers call "life expectancy" of a vehicle 200000km at most. They are built to fall apart so you will buy another. Gone are the days where vehicle longevity was a point of pride for the manifacturer, now built as the cheapest possibly turd they can get away with.
My other business LS Conversions has been busy for ten years straight, because people see that many older vehicles are excellent, often just let down by an outdated driveline and a few missing mod cons. They dont want to drop 100-150k on a new vehicle, they are happy to drop a chunk of change on a top quality repower. Mother Trucker Customs takes this model to the next level.
The vehicles we are building have already stood the test of time, are oversized on most areas so they arent having to work too hard which makes them last, they are made out of 90% recycled components making them some of the greenest vehicles on the market, and they are fu***ng cool unlike anything made in the last 20 years.
