It's hard to believe that Eastbay has been on the water for more than three decades.

From the original Eastbay 38 EX, which helped establish the production Down East cruiser category in 1993, to the much-admired 49 HX and limited-production Eastbay 58, the series has always represented a distinctive combination of timeless design, craftsmanship and offshore performance.

Today, that legacy continues with the Eastbay 60, the most technologically advanced Eastbay ever built.

While the unmistakable Eastbay profile remains, beneath the waterline is Grand Banks' proprietary V-Warp Technology®. The V-Warp Technology hull is designed to maximize waterline length and move efficiently through the water, delivering a softer ride, exceptional comfort and impressive performance throughout the speed range.

It's a remarkable evolution of a yacht that has always been ahead of its time.
We're excited to welcome you aboard the Eastbay 60 at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 28–November 1.

Please note our NEW LOCATION: G-Dock, Slip 271.

Thank you, Annapolis!

Grand Banks has been part of the Annapolis Powerboat Show since 1974, and we always enjoy reconnecting with this wonderful boating community.

This year, visitors had the opportunity to explore the Grand Banks 54, one of our most popular models. Shown with a galley-down arrangement and also available in a galley-up, three-stateroom configuration, every GB54 is customized around the way her owners cruise.

And she's built to go places. With a 26-knot cruising speed, a top speed of 29 knots, and a range of 490 nautical miles at 21 knots, the GB54 exemplifies our philosophy of long-range cruising at speed. At 10 knots, her range extends beyond 800 nautical miles.

Take a look aboard, and thank you to everyone who visited us in Annapolis.

You know it’s October in Annapolis when City Dock clears out and the temporary docks begin stretching into the harbor.

Grand Banks is looking forward to returning to the Annapolis Powerboat Show, October 8–11, with the Grand Banks 54 on display.

Boat shows are always about more than the boats themselves. They’re an opportunity to reconnect with fellow cruisers, hear where their travels have taken them and, perhaps most importantly, talk about where they hope to go next.

The Grand Banks 54 embodies our approach to long-range cruising at speed, combining performance, efficiency and offshore capability in a yacht designed to take you farther. One of the most popular models in the Grand Banks range, the GB54 is offered in both Flybridge and Sedan configurations.

If you’re heading to Annapolis, stop by, meet the Grand Banks team and spend some time aboard. We look forward to welcoming you.

Celebrating 70 Years | Creating the Category (Again)

In 1993, Grand Banks arrived at the Miami International Boat Show with something entirely new: the Eastbay 38 EX.

With her sweeping sheerline and unmistakable Down East styling, the Eastbay 38 presented the classic vibes. But beneath the surface was a deep-V hull designed by Ray Hunt Design, delivering a combination of speed, offshore handling, craftsmanship and refinement that helped create the production Down East cruiser category in North America.

The response was immediate.

What began with the Eastbay 38 soon grew into an entire series of express cruisers and flybridge yachts from 38 to 58-feet, bringing a new dimension of performance to Grand Banks while remaining true to the craftsmanship and seaworthiness that defined the brand.

More than three decades later, the idea behind that first Eastbay continues to evolve. Today’s Eastbay 44 and Eastbay 60 carry the original concept forward with modern construction, greater efficiency and performance. (Another new Eastbay is already on the drawing board of CEO and Chief Designer Mark Richards.)

Some builders enter a category. Grand Banks creates them.

What exactly is V-Warp Technology®, and why does it matter?
Introduced by Mark Richards with the Grand Banks 60 in 2017, V-Warp Technology is the proprietary design and engineering platform behind the performance of today’s Grand Banks fleet. It brings together a highly efficient hull form, carbon fiber superstructure, and monocoque construction to reduce weight and drag while delivering greater range, higher speeds and exceptional offshore performance.

Here are a few of the questions we hear most often:

What makes the V-Warp Technology hull different?
Unlike conventional semi-displacement hulls that often carry considerable beam forward, the V-Warp Technology hull has a fine entry and just six degrees of deadrise at the transom. The result is less resistance through the water and an efficient, composed running attitude across the speed range.

How does V-Warp Technology improve fuel efficiency?
It’s not one thing. The hull reduces hydrodynamic drag. Carbon fiber reduces weight aloft. Monocoque construction creates a strong, lightweight structure. Together, they reduce the power required to maintain speed—improving fuel economy and extending range.

Is it designed for offshore passagemaking?
Absolutely. V-Warp Technology was engineered specifically for long-range offshore cruising, combining efficiency, stability and structural rigidity with the ability to cover significant distances at higher speeds.

Which models use V-Warp Technology?
Every current Grand Banks model, as well as the Eastbay 60, is built on the V-Warp Technology platform.

It’s the engineering behind a simple Grand Banks philosophy: long-range cruising at speed.
