We saw it again today and this time, towed in from another workshop. So we figure its worth the share.

Find yourself in a situation where the starter motors keep dying on your Pentastar, even after you’ve replaced it? That’s usually not “bad luck.”

If you’re chewing through starters on your 3.6L Pentastar, there’s almost always an underlying issue and unfortunately, it’s often not good news.

Hit play, this could save you some money on things you dont need.

If you’ve got a 2018+ Stellantis product, whether it’s a Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, RAM or anything under that umbrella this one’s for you.
Have you:

• Plugged in an OBD2 reader to clear a fault code?
• Tried changing settings with JScan?
• Attempted to do your own diagnostics at home?

And then, nothing. No communication. Locked out.

That’s because from around 2018 onwards, many Stellantis vehicles run a Security Gateway Module (SGW) that blocks aftermarket scan tools from writing/clearing codes without authorisation.

You’ll need a Stellantis bypass cable to get full access.
Quick fact:
Since 2001 all new vehicles have been legally required to support OBD2 for compliance. That’s why every modern car has the OBD port under the dash. But having OBD2 doesn’t mean unrestricted access anymore. Manufacturers have added security layers and Stellantis is one of them.

If you’re diagnosing your own vehicle or using JScan, make sure you’ve got the right gear before you start pulling your hair out.
Need help? We deal with this stuff every day.

Did you know that depending on the year of your WK2, your Grand Cherokee runs a different tone wheel?

It’s not a one size fits all part and getting it wrong can cause some serious headaches.

Series 1 WK2 (5 speed transmission)
Part number: 0046326647

Series 2 WK2 (8 speed transmission)
Part number: 0046352974

If you’re diagnosing faults, replacing components, or planning preventative work, make sure you’re ordering the correct one for your build date.

This Trackhawk is in with us for a Stage 1 camshaft upgrade after it unfortunately suffered from lifter failure.

The 6.2L supercharged HEMI doesn’t run MDS like the 5.7 and 6.4 engines, but it can still experience lifter failure from time to time. Just nowhere near the rates we see on MDS equipped engines.

Perfect opportunity to upgrade the camshaft while we’re in there and give this thing a bit more attitude.

On another note, how good does the nudge bar and light bar look on a Trackhawk! First time we’ve seen one set up like this and it works!

If you’ve got a WK2 Grand Cherokee and you’re noticing leaks or air con issues, this is for you.

The air conditioning condenser and transmission cooler are combined into one unit, and both sides can fail on these vehicles.

The most common issue we see is the condenser leaking, which often shows up as green fluid under the car. A lot of people assume it’s coolant, but these run red coolant from factory, so green usually points straight to an air conditioning leak.

On the flip side, if the transmission cooler section fails, it can dump all the transmission fluid, which is exactly what’s happened in this case.

Another thing to keep in mind is if the transmission cooler side fails, you’re also up for an air conditioning regas because it’s all part of the same unit.

We keep these in stock and can get you sorted quickly before it turns into a bigger issue.

Weird things on JK Wranglers

If you own a JK Wrangler, this is something you need to know.

Unlike most vehicles with rear disc brakes and internal handbrake shoes, the JK does not have a cable adjustment at the lever. There is no simple way to tighten the cable when it stretches.

If your handbrake is sitting too high or not holding properly, start by adjusting the handbrake shoes inside the rear discs like you would on any other vehicle.

If that does not fix it and the lever is still high, the issue is the cables. They stretch over time and need to be replaced.

The upside is they are relatively inexpensive. Usually under 200 dollars per cable. Use genuine parts and avoid the cheaper alternatives.

No adjustment at the lever means once the cables stretch, replacement is the fix.

If your Wrangler handbrake is not doing its job, this is where to look first.

Just bought a RAM? Watch this ASAP.

Here's everything you need to do to get the absolute most out of your RAM

1) MDS delete straight away It’s about reliability Stop it before it chews your camshaft
2)Upgrade front upper control arms Known weak point
3)Service the diff if it’s second hand
4)Chassis bracing if not done yet Prevent cracks

Do these early and save yourself a lot of money

This one turned out unreal

Ash dropped off his 5.7L V8 Overland with us while welcoming their new baby (Congrats Ash!), and we got to work.

MDS delete for reliability, Stage 1 cam upgrade, AFE intake, full Pacemaker setup with headers, highflow cats and exhaust, then finished off with a dyno tune.

End result? Clean, tough, and it sounds insane.

Not an SRT, but does it really matter? Definitely makes a statement. 💥

Do you have a Ram with air suspension?
Sick of pouring money into it every time something fails
Or just over how impractical it can be day to day
We’ve got a proper solution

We can delete the factory QuadraLift air suspension and convert it to a conventional coil and shock setup

No more compressors

No more leaks

No more constant repairs

The kit includes

Front coilovers
Front upper control arms
Rear shocks
Rear springs

Plus the software delete so you won’t have warning lights on the dash

Drive in with air suspension. Drive out on a reliable, traditional setup

Turnaround is about 2 days

Parts lead time is roughly a fortnight

All up, you’re looking at around $17,000

If you’re done wasting money on air suspension, this is the fix

This is an amazing Sarge Green JT, most of you would just call it a Gladiator.

Basically a Wrangler ute, but this one’s a bit different.

Owned by Portal Dynamics 4x4 Australia and pretty well known in the Jeep world, this rig has already had a heap of work done. Now it’s back in the workshop for the next round.

We’re upgrading both front and rear diff ratios to 4.88 to suit the setup properly and bring the drivability back where it should be.

While it’s here, we’re also taking measurements for portal hubs for a different JT, things are about to get serious.
