Ian Price, owner of HP Motorsport, managed to pull a Personal Best in his Ford Es**rt during qualifying this morning at Sydney Motorsport Park with a 1.45.1632.
During the same qualifying session, Ian’s son, Henri Price, co owner of Allux Electrical www.alluxelectrical.au, had a few small gremlins with his Honda Civic which saw him only able to complete 3 laps before needing to retire.
Race 1 soon came around with Ian starting in position 5 and Henri starting in position 14 out of a grid of 20 cars.
Whilst a couple of issues remained with Henri’s Civic, he had a great start and pushed up 5 places to position 9 with his fastest lap of the race being a 1.47.6961.
Ian, who was clearly pleased that both he and his Es**rt were performing well, remained focused and managed to beat his morning’s Personal Best with a new time of 1.45.0636.
Well done to all the competitors in today’s event, it was another great day of racing.
Quite the family event, Ian and Henri are one of three sets of Father & Son competitors that race in the Under 2L category for IPRA NSW - Improved Production Racing Association NSW along with Craig Wildridge and son Matthew Wildridge, Mark Lamour with son Matthew Lamour and Mark’s brother Philip Larmour.
