The BROE Fishing Competition – Beach, Rock, Ocean, Estuary

May 15-17, 2026 | Hosted by Sussex Inlet Fishing Club

Join us for an epic weekend of fishing, food, and fun at Sussex Inlet! Whether you're fishing the rocks, beach, estuary, or heading offshore, there’s something for everyone in The BROE.

Boundaries: From Shoalhaven Heads in the north to Uladulla in the south. Boats must be launched between Greenwell Point and Uladulla.

Key Dates & Times:
Friday May 16: Registration from 6 PM, Briefing from 7pm @ Sussex Inlet Bowling Club

Weigh-ins:
Saturday & Sunday: 1:30 PM–2:30 PM @ Rear of Bowling Club
You must be in the weigh in line by 2.30pm Sunday for weigh in.
Presentation to follow on Sunday Afternoon at Bowling Sussex Inlet Bowling Club Ltd

Cost
$60 per person, $200 Family

Competition Rules:
Full Rules available on the club’s website.
Follow all NSW DPI fishing rules
Weigh in up to 3 of each species per day
Fish must be measured whole at the weigh in, or photographed on a brag mat, recorded on capture sheet and released in healthy condition. Safety gear must be carried on all vessels, and life jackets are required. Stay sun safe and fish responsibly.

Target Species:
These will be confirmed at the registration!
Bream, Drummer, Dusky Flathead, Flathead, Leatherjacket, Luderick, Morwong, Salmon, Snapper & Tailor
(Note: Dusky Flathead over 70cm must be released after photo)

Prizes Include:
Mystery Length (Sat & Sun) Biggest & Runner-Up of Each Species Longest Bag – Male, Female & Junior Overall Champion Lucky Door Prizes & Raffles Over $10K in Prizes!

The Sussex Inlet Viking Festival returns with a full day of entertainment, culture and family friendly fun.

Walk through a Viking village, watch live battle re-enactments, enjoy music and entertainment, and explore a range of food stalls, crafts and activities.

Kids can enjoy rides and entertainment in the Kids Zone, while adults can relax at the Viking Beer Garden and enjoy the festival atmosphere.
