From fuel and waste liquid through to vacuum, tallow and emulsion, we engineer and manufacture tanker solutions across rigid, dog trailer, B-double, A-double, road train and PBS configurations.

Engineering Three Tanker Designs for a Waste Oil Collection Fleet

Another set of bespoke road tankers is ready for delivery to Cleanaway .

This project required three tanker designs across FUSO Fighter, FUSO Shogun and FUSO Shogun with ROPS (not shown) cab chassis.

While the operational requirement was consistent, each cab chassis demanded its own engineering solution to maximise payload, optimise barrel capacity and deliver rapid waste oil collection performance.

Rather than adapting a standard design, ATE engineered each tanker specifically for its platform, ensuring consistent functionality while optimising the capability of each vehicle.

Each tanker is fitted with a lightweight aluminium barrel with capacities ranging from 15,000L to 16,000L. Equipment upgrades include a Boerger pumping system, hose reel, overfill protection and ground level tank gauging displays to improve safety by reducing the need for the operator to access the top of the tanker.

Designed and manufactured in Australia.

ATE Tankers has delivered this PBS-approved A-double combination, finished in a custom heritage livery that reflects TASCO’s history and identity.

The combination is hauled by an Australian Made Volvo FH, manufactured by Volvo Trucks Australia in Brisbane and supplied by Johnson’s Trucks Mildura—bringing together Australian manufacturing, engineering and industry expertise.

Another ATE solution delivered in style — and built to work hard: A 21,000 L diesel-dispensing tanker on an Isuzu 8×4 cab-chassis is now in service with West Tankers.

This full turn-key project included structural chassis modifications and a serious equipment package.

Scope & specs included:

- Fuel dispensing system with a Blackmer hydraulic pump, Gardner Denver oil cooler, Alfons Haar pneumatic hose reel, Sampi meter and a Liquip register.
- Liquip hatches, vapour vents, valves, gates.
- Dixon overfill protection system.
- AS2809 DG fuel haul conversion.
