We wet sanded this BRAND NEW Mazda 😳
Yeah… and here’s why.
This CX-5 was basically fresh out of the box, but one bird dropping had already managed to leave its mark.
What a lot of people don’t realise is how acidic bird droppings can be. Left sitting on unprotected paint — especially in the Aussie heat — they can actually etch into the clear coat, leaving damage that a normal cut and polish simply won’t remove.
And that’s exactly what happened here.
The etching was too deep to safely correct with compound alone, so we carefully wet sanded the affected area, levelling the damaged clear coat before refining it back through multiple polishing stages.
Once the paint was back where it should be, we weren’t giving it another chance. 😂
The entire CX-5 was then corrected, prepared and protected with our 10-year Luminous X Borophene coating, giving the paint a serious layer of protection against UV, contamination, bird droppings and everything else Aussie conditions throw at it.
Brand-new doesn’t always mean perfect.
And protection is a hell of a lot cheaper than repairing permanent damage. 👌
