Size is the catch with bigger vehicles. More bonnet, more guard, more nose pushed into the road, and every square metre of it can take a hit.

That's why this one's getting film. It covers a bigger footprint than your average vehicle, so it cops more of what gets thrown at it. Stones, grit, whatever's kicked back from the vehicles ahead.

If you've put serious money into a truck like this, look after it. Film is resistant, not immune, but it's a lot better off than bare paint.🛡️

Bonnet and bar line. That's where the stones land first.

On a 70 Series the leading edge takes everything the tyres and the trucks ahead throw back. Gravel, highway grit, whatever's on the road. So the film goes on there before it goes anywhere else.

Film takes the hit so the paint doesn't have to. It's resistant, not immune, but it's a lot better off than bare paint.

A PPF quote can look cheap right up until you find out what's missing from it.

Two kits can carry similar price tags and cover different amounts of your vehicle. Ask for the panels in writing. Ask how the edges are finished. Ask which film tier you're getting and who stands behind the warranty, because Cape, Advanced and Pro aren't the same product.

Bar, lights, wheels and so on. A rig like this is rarely stock for long.

Every extra is another decision and another bit of money into a vehicle that's still new. Once you've put that much in, it makes sense to look after the whole thing to lock in that new feel and finish.

It's your build. It deserves to stay that way, thats where PPF will be ya best mate!

So it comes down to fingertip work, pressing the film down along the guard beside the mirror, following the body line and working the last of the slip solution out from under it.

Nobody notices this bit when it's done right. They notice it six months on when the corner's peeling.

The question we get most is which one to spend the money on, and it's the wrong question. 🛡️

Film is a physical layer. It sits on the paint and takes the impact so the clear coat doesn't. A coating is chemical, it bonds to the surface and changes how it behaves, so dirt and water let go instead of sticking. One absorbs, one repels. They're not competing.

Neither one fixes damage that's already there. Chips, swirls and oxidation get sorted before, or they stay under whatever goes on top, but in saying that PPF when applied does hide minor swirls and minor paint wear (still not a fix).

Send through your make, model and a couple of photos of the paint and we'll tell you what your rig actually needs to suit your goals.
