Onsite in Laverton. The customer bought a 907 vs30 sprinter from the auctions crashed and swapped the camper van body to the new van.

He contacted us to try and get it started and running to prove the engine is fine.

Travelled onsite. Diagnosed the starter wire has been crushed during impact.

Reset the "crash signal". Replaced the pyro fuse and started first click.

All done within the hour 👌

Mercedes was booked out for a month ahead and wanted 4 hours to diagnose it

If you own a 2011–2018 Mercedes Sprinter and have struggled to get your DC-DC charger working reliably, this post is for you.

These years came with a smart alternator that constantly adjusts voltage.

Foot to the floor with fans and lights on? Voltage jumps to 14.5V.
Cruising on the freeway with minimal accessories? Voltage drops as low as 12.7V.

That low voltage makes it almost impossible for most DC-DC chargers to kick in and properly charge your auxiliary battery.

🚨 Another Sprinter saved from an expensive misdiagnosis! 🚨

A customer drove all the way from Queensland in his 2017 OM651 316CDI Sprinter when the van suddenly turned off on him while driving.

He left it with a workshop in Melbourne’s south-east for 2 weeks. They told him it was struggling to build fuel pressure, so they replaced the fuel pump for $5,000 — and the problem remained exactly the same.

Then they recommended a new fuel rail + set of injectors for another $8,500. At that point the customer knew something wasn’t right… and thankfully he found us.

We booked the van in and had it fully diagnosed in just 3 hours.

The real fault? A failed ECU.
Nothing in the fuel system was actually faulty.

We sourced a correct replacement ECU (Mercedes had zero stock worldwide — it would have been a long wait from Germany plus towing and programming at the dealer).

Huge thanks to our mates at OCD Diesel Performance — Alex dropped everything, drove 1.5 hours each way, read the old ECU, cloned it perfectly into the new one, and plugged it in.

Result? Turned the key… and the engine purred like nothing ever happened. Fixed and back on the road the same day.
The customer was absolutely stunned — especially after dropping $5k on the wrong parts.

This is exactly why proper specialist diagnosis matters. Chasing fuel pressure symptoms without checking the electronics can cost you thousands for zero result.

We are presented with a Mercedes Benz Sprinter 518 CDI V6 OM642, where the driver reported hearing a loud bang followed by a loss of power. This incident occurred on Tuesday at 1 pm. A replacement genuine turbo would cost $6,500, ex Singapore, with a transit time of 7 to 10 days. We have new core stock and turbo actuators available. The turbo has been removed, replaced with a new core and turbo actuator, and the intake system has been cleaned. A new intercooler was installed, and the vehicle was returned to the road by Wednesday afternoon.

Customer complaint was brakes feel abit 💩. I wonder why?! Fkn Repco brake pads.

We only use textar brake pads which are genuine without the part number.

Brakes now feel amazing 👌
