Good afternoon everyone here is the before and after on brians gu that was unfortunately “fuel screw tuned” aka the cowboytuned it does have a Radius Fabrication snorkel and there airbox to a United Fuel Injection 18g a front mount intercooler and the factory 11mm pump after we sorted the mess with the fuel screw and getting the a/c idle up working the way it should we correctly tuned it via the fuel pin rectifying the sooty 14:0 off boost afrs to a much cleaner 17.5 and actually turned the boost back down as its a factory pump they don’t need to run 26psi of boost when the factory pump has limited fuelling! And its now making a stout 125.5kw and 440nm at the wheels 🛞 which is a fantastic result for a factory fuel pump ⛽️ 🕺🏼

Happy Wednesday everyone! Brians bought in his gu nissan patrol in for a tune 🎶 we have just carried out our pre dyno runs and ohh boy have we got some work ahead of us this morning! Seeing the idle on the pump backed right off, the off boost fuelling is a flat 14:1 with a standard 11mm fuel pump then we went to engage the a/c to then have the engine rpm fly up to 1400 rpm!!!!! After the Tillix Performance and Tuning egr delete on jesse’s gu we gave the coolant system a good flush and filled with fresh coolant and a quick run on the dyno to confirm everything is working as it should (we have previously tuned it), still on the factory ht18 turbo and factory intercooler with a de-tuned United Fuel Injection pump on 35z! 🕺🏼

Jessie has bought back in his td42-ti nissan patrol with complaints of massive exhaust leak and soot pouring out the bonnet scoop, on inspection the oh soo common egr pipe thats runs around the back of the cylinder head has cleanly snapped off. With an egr delete kit from Tillix Performance and Tuning we have this all sorted out and back on the road!

Basil’s bought back his gu td42-t ute for tune attempt number 3! From issues from the pump having major issues internally to last visit we covered the horrific boost leaks from all the 2nd hand parts and inlet manifold we re smoked tested it to confirm everything was good to go! From last visit we did shim the pump back due to the previous boost issues that had to get rectified so i wanted to make sure it wasn’t over-fuelling and safe to dive. After the initial run of 131 kw and 475nm we had noticed the Performance 4x4 18g wasn’t spooling anywhere near we know they should and was a delayed and lazy boost curve, straight over to the turbos actuator we noticed preload was non existent then a further investigation we had found the actuator bracket only had one bolt that was loose bolting it to the compressor housing, thankfully a very quick fix of finding another bolt to properly secure the bracket and tighten the bolts and re check we had a minimal 1/2 a hole preload on the actuator preload and we were back to having a fantastic responsive flat boost curve, basil was only wanting to be in the 200hp club and the JH Hilux pump had absolutely no issues making 165kw and just over 600nm at the wheels with plenty of shims left in the pump if he ever wanted more! 🕺🏼

Rowans bought in his gu td42ti patrol ute for a tune after installing a Radius Fabrication airbox / snorkel custom 4” intake to the United Fuel Injection 18g turbo with Cross Country 4x4 Intercoolers intercooler and a new ufi 230hp 11mm with new injectors. We had to install a Turbosmart boost tee to get the boost at 26 psi and this had absolutely no issues reeling off 165kw and 550nm rowan was only after 200hp so we did dial it back a touch to meet his requirements of 155kw and 525nm! what an absolutely fantastic setup 🕺🏼

Jakes bought in his recently purchased gu td42 patrol in for a tune 🎶 it has a brand new United Fuel Injection 18g turbo Cross Country 4x4 Intercoolers intercooler and a Millweld Customs airbox and snorkel. With an 11mm pump now maxed out at 114kw and 525nm! With an upgraded pump this setup will easly make 200hp 🕺🏼

Claytons bought in his gu td42- t for a tune 🎶 apart from the High Performance Diesel intercooler and 3” turbo back exhaust it’s totally stock. As arrived it made 67kw and 250 to now making 95kw and 370nm at the wheels 🛞 thats a fantastic gain of 28kw and 120nm! Still shows there is good gains to be made with a stock 11mm pump and ht18 turbo 🕺🏼

Rodneys bought in his gu patrol for a tune 🎶 its a full built motor by powerhouse in warragul with all the cool parts! Its using a diesel central dc6 pump and a gtx2860 garrett turbocharger on a china top mount manifold with a front mount intercooler. After the base runs we were quite confused at the very “lazy” power and torque and extremely lazy boost curve we carried out all the basic checks of smoke test for leaks ( that all came back totally fine ) took actuator rod off and checked waste gate actuator flap was moving 90 degrees with no restrictions and it had correct preload and that came back all fine, took the intake off to inspect the compressor side absolutely no dusting or damage to now at the stage of we require the turbo to be removed and inspect the exhaust wheel and the flapper with the sizing of the rear housing / exhaust wheel as we suspect this must have a large .84 housing as we absolutely wouldn’t see a lazy boost curve with a .64 unless something is wrong with the exhaust wheel or internally with the waste gate flapper not sealing shut correctly. Quite frustrating as it should be making boost far earlier with a much better power / torque curve! Stay tuned while we investigate this one further!
