This stunning 2-Door STI came in for a round of performance upgrades and essential maintenance to keep it running at its best.
We started with a full service and replaced worn wheel bearings to ensure everything is solid.
From there, we stepped things up with the installation of an Invidia Q300 turbo-back exhaust system. To take control to the next level, we fitted a link_ecu engine management system along with a full suite of sensors. This allows us to implement advanced engine protection strategies and precise tuning, keeping the engine safe while unlocking its full potential.

Ahmed’s 2006 Sti is in for a dyno tune!
After finding a blocked/damaged catalytic converter in the factory exhaust system (that was causing some major drivability issues) it was replaced with a full turbo back exhaust system and hit the rollers to tune it accordingly!
Making a stout 200KW at all 4 wheels this STI is ready to be enjoyed again!

Jerices wrx is back in after many years of driving, still going strong đŸ’Ș the engine has now done 100 000kms since we have built it. So it’s not a bad idea to put it back on the dyno to do a health check and see how everything is behaving!
Remember a car has plenty of mechanical parts that do wear so it’s always good to keep an eye on things. Let’s see what we find!

Technical Info Time!

What you’re looking at are two dyno runs of the same car with the same modifications — the only difference is the short block.
This is a perfect example of why not all “built” engines are created equal.

The green graph represents the original “built” engine.
As you can see, it needs a lot of boost just to make a simple 250 kW (so yes, we knew som**hing wasn’t right).
The compression numbers weren’t actually bad when we tested the engine, but when we stripped it down, we found a lot of issues in the bottom end.
(I could go deep into the details, but that’s a story for another day.)
Keep in mind, this engine was running with no obvious external issues — it simply wasn’t sealing properly under load, which is why it needed so much boost to make that power.

The red graph shows one of our built engines, with no changes to the head — just one of our bottom ends.
The difference is night and day.
A properly sealing engine is key to making reliable power.

Wills GC8 is back in for some love 😍

Unfortunately the rear end needs some attention from the control arms, rear differential, cv shafts aswell as the struts!
Time to strip down the rear end and get the geometry back to how it should be with some repairs along the way đŸ’Ș hopefully we will see this car back on the track ASAP!

Ali’s WRX has come into the shop due to quite a few issues in regards to his drivetrain some mechanical and some tune related!
One of the main issues was the abnormal hesitation while the car was coming onto boost. When we test drove the car we found it was misfiring, during our health check we found a severely rich mixture in the wrong area of the map causing it to misfire. It seems like the previous tuner did not pay much attention to this area of the map? Maybe the VE of the engine has changed over time ? the engine did pass the compression test we carried out during the health check aswell. Under power the mixtures clear up and was at an acceptable level so it’s hard to say. Moving forward
We decided to re tune this WRX starting from scratch to get best results of course.
The car came in initially making 165kw at the wheels , now it is making a stout 190kwatw with no misfire and a much cleaner drive!

Check this out!
Once we loaded the Evo up on the dyno we couldn’t put any load on it without dropping cylinders! we couldn’t even get past 3000rpm at 20% throttle we pulled out the spark plugs to find cylinder 1 and 2 both are completely broken as pictured. This is because the incorrect spark plugs have been installed on all 4 cylinders, as far as we can tell with a bore scope there seems to be no damage evident to the piston luckily.

Evo 7 in for a dyno tune!
This Evo came in to us driving but severely cutting out and almost sounded like the car was labouring constantly. We done our visual checks and couldn’t see anything obvious. We loaded up the car on the dyno not so much to tune the car right away but to help diagnose the issues before we go ahead and tune the car. Being that the car is a factory car we don’t have fuel pressure and or a wideband having the dyno allows us to apply load and set up equipment to check these parameters!

What we find next is crazy! And really didn’t think this sort of stuff happens in 2025!

Here is a run of the supercharged Lexus RC-F on the hub dyno!
Listen to it sing! Finishing up on the tune with a stout 470HP at the hubs on pump 98 fuel and 5~psi of boost ! (93 for the Americans) while all the running gear was hot! đŸ”„
No more detonation ! As we tuned the car with the factory ecu our main goal is to make sure we avoid using the knock sensor and it only intervenes when and if it really needs to. The owner of this car really wants to track this car without having m**h injection or ethanol purely on 98 pump fuel meaning he wants to do lap after lap without worrying . Again you have to consider this engine is a high compression engine that now has boost pressure down its throat. If we had E85 I would feel more comfortably adding in a lot more power but that might be for next time 😎
Did I mention how much more drivable the car is in comparison to the previous “tuned ecu” ?
I think that is a win!
