Hi everyone,
How great has this week been. So much interest in Logan getting up and running again, and It is great to see how many people have offered to join the committee after we successfully managed to get the Council to overturn our closure.

Once all the paperwork has been submitted and Final approved has been granted by the Council, we can move forward with planning stands, facility upgrades and design of track for the rebuild for the start of next years racing, of course as always following the Council's guidance and criteria.

The current elected committee will continue restarting the club and managing relations with the Council in the best interest of the Logan Offroad RC. Once we receive formal approval from the Council, we will offer six-month memberships with renewal due at end of February and then plan to hold our next AGM around April 2027. This timeline ensures the current committee has enough time to finalize all details and place the club in a strong position before new members join the committee.

Please note that even if you are not on the committee, any thoughts or ideas you would like to raise will be discussed as a club and considered for our suggestions to the Council.

Thank you all for your patience throughout this long process. We are finally nearing the end, and we look forward to making.
Logan Great Again.

thanks Greg.

PS. weather permitting I will be going to track on Wednesday between 8-12 to start doing a little bit of work and cleaning as we wait for the final go ahead. Also if there are any Nice companies out there who have some spare cash, we are chasing a 6 burner BBQ, 4 stroke Whipper Snipper and a few lpg gas bottles that were damaged by our live in squatters and council wouldn’t replace.

thanks.
Logan Off Road Committee

Dear All,

An update regarding Meakin Park.

Following a recent follow-up meeting with a Logan Council representative, it is anticipated that the Council will finalize their proposal for the park shortly. The proposal is expected to be reviewed by the Council by the end of April, with the decision-making process potentially taking several months to complete.
The primary options currently under consideration include:
1. Retaining the current location and pursuing grant funding to replace the demolished stand;
2. Relocating to an alternative site with council-supported infrastructure, subject to a potential 1-2 year construction period;
3. Revoking the lease entirely.
This situation has arisen due to the local rugby league club's upgrade to their complex, driven by their affiliation with the Auckland Warriors, which includes a proposal to utilize our track area as supplementary parking.
Consequently, we remain in a state of uncertainty pending the Council's decision.
Regrettably, the Council has declined our request to fund a temporary driver's stand, which would have served as a temporary solution for the demolished stand. This proposal would have enabled us to accommodate 8-9 drivers, reopen the track, and resume racing activities. Moreover, the stand's temporary nature would have circumvented the need for permanent structure approvals.
Nevertheless, we are continuing to explore all available avenues regarding this matter.
On a positive note, we would like to express our appreciation for the support displayed by our members during this challenging period. The committee would like to extend its gratitude to Justin and Melissa from coast2coastrc for their dedication and efforts when the issue first arose. Additionally, we appreciate the messages of support from our members, which demonstrate the strong sense of community that defines Logan Offroad.
Moving forward, the committee has reached out to Cristina, TJ's aunt, who has been instrumental in assisting us behind the scenes. Cristina has joined forces with the committee to navigate the Council's processes and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to secure the track's reinstatement. Her expertise in organizing meetings and communicating with Council representatives has been invaluable.
In summary, while the current situation remains uncertain, we can foresee an end to this prolonged shutdown of Logan. We will keep you updated as soon as any new information becomes available.
