Algabonyah Driver Mentor Program The Rumbalara Football Netball Club (RFNC) seeks to develop the ADMP as a successful driver mentor program, the first First Nations led driving program.

The Algabonyah Driver Mentor Program (ADMP) was established to create a culturally safe driving program for Aboriginal people of all age’s living within the Goulburn Valley region. The ADMP aims to strengthen First Nations people in the Goulburn Valley by providing access and support for those who do not have the resources necessary to obtain a learner driver licence, or achieve 120 hours of driving experience required to gain a probationary licence. This will assist many people in our community to obtain a learner permit or license and enable them to secure sustainable employment, access study or training, and most importantly be socially connected.

🎉 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒, 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘! 🚗❤️🖤

Today, Rumbalara Football Netball Club’s Algabonyah Driver Mentor Program celebrated our 𝟑𝟎𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐏’𝐬 and our 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐋’𝐬 with the program’s assistance. To reach both milestones on the same day makes this an extra special moment for our club and community!

Behind every achievement is a personal journey filled with effort, determination, growing confidence and proud moments. These milestones show the difference our club is making beyond the football field and netball court, helping create opportunities and change lives in our community.

Getting a licence can change someone’s life. It can open the door to a job, make study and training more accessible, and give someone the freedom to take their kids to school, attend appointments and support their family. For those gaining their L’s, it’s an exciting first step towards that independence.

A heartfelt thank you to our driving instructors, Allan and Berny, and to Vanessa for her dedication during her time with the program. Thank you for all of your patience, care, encouragement and commitment to our learners. You help people overcome nerves, build confidence and believe in their ability. The difference you make goes well beyond passing a test and carries into people’s everyday lives and futures.

We also thank Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative and the Department of Transport and Planning’s TAC L2P Program for supporting our club’s delivery of ADMP. Your support helps make these opportunities possible for our community.

To everyone who has achieved their L’s or P’s with ADMP, congratulations! You’ve put in the work, and we’re proud to have been alongside you. To those still working towards their goals, we look forward to celebrating your moment too! 🙌

300 P’s. 100 L’s. One very proud day, with so much more ahead!
