Now for a turbocharged NB!
This MX5 has been in and tune previously so just a health check and squeezing a weee bit more out of this built 1.8lt (non VCT), running 15psi boost and tuned on a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU

📈 Results: 172kw & 264

Stock BP 1.8lt fed 5psi from a Jackson Racing charger & Link G4X ECU.
Awesome power and torque curve, driving just like it had a bigger displacement engine.

Yeah... it didn't really make any power and no it wouldn't spool a HX35

Actually, i'm pretty sure this is one of, if not the lowest power output (except for some bikes) that i've had on the dyno.

Turns out it had a blown head gasket, or it blew it on the dyno who knows. Kev will bring it back one day, see if we can crack 20awkw.

There was no stopping this 2JZ freight train - dreaded wastegate integration problems just kept feeding more and more boost with RPM.
How bad was the creep? Well have a look at the picture with the wastegate off all together, it still made 10psi boost!

Eventually letting it eat.. we ended up setting an RPM limiter at 7000rpm to cap boost & power. Still making 400rwkw on the GE bottom end!! The plan was to go E85, but that wasnt going to happen if we had no control over power, that and it maxed out the injectors anyway.

This Type R Integra had been tuned elsewhere for E85, with the new owner requesting a swap back to 98 octane. Fuel drained and tuned to suit, it seemed to increase power. 😎

6 years later this VL Turbo has come back for more, now with a larger high mount turbo, exhaust & JPC plenum.
25psi boost (with a 'stock' airbox!) sees a huge 790nm of torque through the built Jatco auto. All controlled with a Plug n Play Link ECU.

📈 Results: 319kw & 790nm
