Another landscaping and garden maintenance fitout completed for a valued client, this time in a Ford Transit 500E LWB van.

Designed as a mobile workshop and warehouse, this fitout features:

✅ Hand mower and hand tool storage frame
✅ Full-height shelving for equipment and consumables
✅ Full-height mesh wall panels with dedicated whipper snipper and hedge trimmer storage
✅ Custom ceiling-mounted internal ladder rack

The mesh wall panel system is ideal for securing larger items, bulky equipment and bags of green waste, helping keep everything organised and safely restrained during transit.

For landscaping and garden maintenance businesses, a van fitout simply makes sense. Equipment stays protected from the weather, securely stored and ready to go at all times. With the generous cargo space offered by the Ford Transit 500E, crews can carry everything they need to get the job done while maintaining a professional and organised mobile workspace.

We’re excited to welcome Alex Sutherland to the VQuip team as our newest Pre-Production Engineer, based at our Scoresby facility.

Alex brings a strong problem-solving mindset and an enthusiastic can-do attitude to the design team. He plays a key role across the entire pre-production process, from developing detailed concept designs for customers through to preparing shop drawings ready for production.

His ability to think creatively and work through complex challenges helps ensure fitouts are practical, efficient, and fit for purpose.

Q: What’s your go-to productivity tip?
A: Make sure to have organised what needs to be done before you start doing it, so that you have a clear plan on every task you need to do to finish your work.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: Finding creative ways to solve problems for our clients. Each job brings a unique set of challenges and I find it very satisfying to find a good and interesting solution that fits their needs.

Q: What’s a hobby or interest you have outside of work?
A: I try to keep myself busy as often as possible, so when I’m not working, I’m either doing sports, working on one of my cars or practicing music. If I don’t have anything to keep me occupied I tend to go a bit stir-crazy.

Q: Coffee or tea?
Coffee: A long black if I’m working, a mocha if I’m relaxing.

Welcome to the team, Alex.

Across Australia, infrastructure and network crews keep essential services running every day.

Gas. Water. Electricity. Telecommunications. Often unseen, but always critical.

These teams work in high-pressure environments including live networks, traffic side conditions, and time-critical response situations. Their vehicle is not just transport. It is a mobile workspace that needs to be safe, reliable, and ready for anything.

VQuip designs fit-for-purpose vehicle fitouts built around how these crews actually work.

From network construction and maintenance to rapid fault response, our fitouts are engineered for:

✔ Efficiency in the field
✔ Safe and secure storage
✔ Payload and compliance management
✔ Durability in harsh environments

We have delivered fitouts for some of Australia’s largest infrastructure fleets, supporting complex, high volume national rollouts with consistency and reliability.

With VQuip, fleets benefit from:

✔ National fitment coverage
✔ Standardised layouts across every vehicle
✔ Structured rollout delivery
✔ Confidence that every vehicle is ready for work

Through VHub, our customer portal, fleet managers gain full visibility across their rollout, from live build status and progress tracking to QA documentation and reporting.

The same layout. The same standard. The same quality nationwide.
If your fleet supports Australia’s critical infrastructure, VQuip is ready to support you.

Service technicians often need to cut, clamp, hold, or modify parts while working on site.

Without a proper work surface, this usually means improvising on the ground or inside the van.

VQuip incorporates integrated vice mounts into many of our fleet fitouts to give technicians a stable and practical work point wherever the job takes them.

Our options include:

👉 Fold-down vice mounts that store neatly against the shelving and deploy in seconds: https://vquip.com.au/products/vice-with-fold-down-mount/

👉 Slide-out vice mounts that extend from the vehicle for a strong, accessible work platform: https://vquip.com.au/products/vice-with-slide/

These systems allow technicians to complete small fabrication, cutting, and adjustment tasks directly at the vehicle, helping improve productivity and reducing unnecessary trips back to the workshop.

It is a simple addition to a fitout, but one that can make a big difference to how efficiently technicians work in the field.

Mechanical service technicians keep critical equipment running every day, from lifts and escalators to plant equipment and appliances.

Their vehicles need to carry a huge range of tools, parts, and consumables while staying organised and compliant. When the vehicle setup isn’t right, jobs get delayed, parts go missing, and costly re-visits follow.

VQuip designs fit-for-purpose vehicle fitouts that help mechanical service fleets:

✔ Carry more parts without losing organisation
✔ Improve first-time fix rates (limit re-booked jobs)
✔ Maintain safe payload compliance
✔ Deliver consistent layouts across national fleets

The result is a more efficient technician and a more professional experience at every customer site.

A fire extinguisher is a small addition to a fleet vehicle fitout, but it can make a big difference in an emergency.

From service vans to specialised fleet vehicles, having the right safety equipment onboard helps technicians respond quickly if something unexpected occurs.

In this article, we look at why many fleets include fire extinguishers as part of their standard vehicle specification.

A service van isn’t just transport.

It’s a mobile warehouse.

If parts aren’t visible, accessible, and logically stored, rebookings increase — no matter how skilled the technician is.

Improving first-time fix rates isn’t only about KPIs and software. It’s about physical workflow design.

Here’s our take on how van fitout design influences fleet performance: https://vquip.com.au/blog/the-hidden-link-between-van-fitout-design-and-first-time-fix-rates/

When a fleet rollout involves dozens or even hundreds of vehicles, the temptation is to move fast. Lock in the design, finalise the quote, and get production underway.

But skipping a proper prototype build is one of the most expensive shortcuts a fleet can take.

A single prototype vehicle, built and reviewed properly, can prevent design errors, rework, downtime, safety issues, and inconsistent builds that quietly add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars across a national rollout.
