Sometimes itโ€™s not the big faults that catch you out โ€” itโ€™s the small things that get missed.

A quick look might not show much, but once you dig a little deeper, you can spot wear or issues starting to creep in.

Thatโ€™s why taking the time to properly check things over can save you a lot down the track.

Itโ€™s often the small things that give you the first warning that something's not quite right.
Easy to overlook, but if left too long, they can turn into bigger and more expensive problems down the track.

Thatโ€™s why a proper check over matters, not just a quick look, but making sure everythingโ€™s doing what it should.

Not every issue is obvious straight away.

Sometimes it takes a proper inspection to uncover whatโ€™s really going on underneath โ€” and thatโ€™s where problems can be caught early before they turn into something more serious.

Itโ€™s always worth getting things checked properly rather than guessing.

โ€™Road-Legalโ€™ Light Bar Wiring How-toโ€™s (Grenadier)

Many Grenadier owners donโ€™t realize that the factory pre-wired circuits on the roof are only for off-road use. That means the light bar wonโ€™t turn on with your high beam, which isnโ€™t legal for Australian roads.

Weโ€™ve wired it so the factory spotlight switch now controls the roof light bar, and it triggers off the high beam circuit. That way, itโ€™s road-legal, works seamlessly, and still uses all factory wiring and relays.

If youโ€™ve got a Grenadier and want a light bar done properly, give us a call: (07) 3269 3158

Watch the temp gauge โ€” if it climbs past halfway or fluctuates, check coolant level and radiator fans. Low coolant or a dead fan is often the cause.

Ever had your LandCruiser struggle to start on a cold morning?
If you own an early LC 200, like a 2013 model, it comes with two factory batteries linked in parallel. Some people try to split themโ€”one for cranking the engine, one for accessoriesโ€”but each battery alone doesnโ€™t have enough cold cranking power to start the engine reliably.
If you want smooth starts every time, either keep the dual setup or upgrade to a bigger battery. Itโ€™s a simple step that saves a lot of headaches.

Your car stopping on the side of the road is bad.
But in this case, it may have stopped something much worse from happening.**

Luke from Sandgate Electrics and Automotive Services had a Terracan come in after the client was driving along and the car suddenly stopped.

The initial issue was a diesel fuel system leak โ€” but when the team went to push the vehicle off the tow truck, it wouldnโ€™t move properly.

One wheel was pointing one way. The other wheel was pointing another.

After inspection, the issue was found around the tie rod/rack end assembly โ€” and it definitely wasnโ€™t meant to be moving the way it was.

This could have been extremely dangerous if it had let go while the vehicle was still driving.

Breakdowns are frustrating, but sometimes they reveal problems that need to be caught before they become something far more serious.

If your vehicle feels unsafe, is making unusual noises, has steering issues, or has suddenly stopped, donโ€™t ignore it.

A quick comparison shows the issue โ€” the old seal is soft and worn, while the new one has a firm, even lip.

With less tension, oil slips past the old seal and contaminates brakes, pads and components.

Small part, big impact. Regular servicing helps catch this early.
