Dillon Beh has the first parts of the LX Torana painted today. The front and rear bars are painted in semi gloss black now to match in with the A9X blackouts which will be painted on the car.

The cat is out of the bag with the colour now too and we can reveal it is being painted in Brooklyn Grey. A unique colour inspired by the Brooklyn Naval Yards. A mid battleship grey colour that has a pearl in it that only appears when the light directly strikes it.

Perfect example here of the differences a ground coat makes. Top sprayout is a dark grey, 2nd from top is light grey, 3rd from top is black and the fourth is green. All of them have the same copper colour sprayed over the top but the different colour ground coats alter the top colour quite noticeably.

Thanks to the vehicle having many repaints over the years none of them are a dead on match to the vehicle either yet. The joys of colour matching.

Plastic welds done today on one of the Kawasaki panels that had some cracks in the plastic. Welded inside and out for strength. They had been repaired previously just with filler but that was never going to hold them together over time.

Small amount of filler to put in there now and due to the weld done this time there should be no more problems with it now.
