One of the examples why you shouldn't go to where your insurance company pushes you. If you are not happy post repair, seek another opinion.

We were contacted by a couple who live in Surfers Paradise QLD who were having trouble getting their insurer to acknowledge there were quality issues with the repairs. The customer had the assessors from RACQ inspect the repairs who advised the repairs were "adequate and to a satisfactory standard."
Once the vehicle was taken to an independent repairer and the front bumper was removed the full extent of damage could be seen.
RACQ have now authorised rectification that includes new bumper, front absorber, reinforcement and radiator support.
This is what "Fixed Cost" repairs produces. The ACCC think consumers get a benefit from insurers having Recommended Repairers.
The first repair cost less than $1.200, on the surface a great price, except the insured had not been indemnified and the customer is waiting for an apology while they drive the rental car provided at no cost.
If your car has been recently repaired, do yourself a favour and have an independent person carry out a post repair inspection.
