🔧 A toolbox, a YouTube tutorial and confidence levels usually reserved for qualified technicians—what could possibly go wrong? 😂

This Volvo XC90 owner decided they would be tackling this “simple” brake-pad replacement at home. After all, it’s only a large luxury SUV loaded with electronic systems… basically a wheelbarrow with leather seats, right? 😏

Midway through the job, the battery went flat and the electronic braking system wound the caliper pistons completely out. Suddenly, the quick pad change became a Swedish driveway puzzle—with several expensive pieces and no IKEA instructions included. 💸🇸🇪

What should’ve been a straightforward job ended up costing nearly double, along with enough stress to turn the remaining hair grey.

But jokes aside, incorrectly refitting the pads or calipers could’ve caused serious damage, complete brake failure, or placed the customer and other road users in genuine danger. Brakes aren’t the ideal place to learn through trial and error—the “error” part can arrive at 100km/h.

🦖 THIS RAPTOR WENT IN FOR INJECTOR SEALS… AND CAME OUT NEEDING INJECTORS.

That’s like going in for a haircut and coming out needing a new head. Impressive work—just for all the wrong reasons. 😮‍💨

What should’ve been a straightforward injector reseal somehow became the “less power, more problems” package. Due to the original issue being incorrectly identified and the injector seals not being replaced properly, this 2.2 Bi-Turbo began losing power and the injectors started failing.

The moment it arrived at Eurojap Autowerks, we confirmed the injector failure instantly. No guessing, no “they all do that,” and no blaming the fuel, the tune or Mercury being in retrograde. 🔮

Luckily, we caught it before a tiny seal turned into an engine-sized invoice—because rebuilding an engine is a fairly expensive way to discover someone didn’t complete a reseal properly.

We corrected the repair, restored the performance and put the Raptor back into the Raptor. The customer bought a Bi-Turbo ute, not a lifted wheelbarrow with mood lighting. 🛒

QUATTRO: FOUR WHEELS DRIVEN.

This Audi RS3 came into Eurojap Autowerks after the drivetrain started behaving like someone had quietly cancelled its Quattro subscription.

Beautiful car.
Iconic 5-cylinder.
Serious performance.

And a transfer case that had officially stopped transferring.

After carrying out a proper diagnosis, we confirmed the transfer case had failed — meaning all that glorious RS3 power wasn’t exactly being distributed the way the four rings had promised.

Nothing humbles German engineering quicker than putting it on a hoist and finding the expensive bit that said “Auf Wiedersehen.” 😂

And this is exactly the sort of work we love.

Not just servicing the badge.

🚨 WHEN YOUR Q7’S REAR END HAS OFFICIALLY LOST THE WILL TO LIVE… 😂

This 2008 Audi Q7 rolled into Eurojap Autowerks looking like it was ready to attack the road from the front…

…but from the back, it looked like it had sat down to think about its life choices. 💀🤣

Front end: “Vorsprung durch Technik.” 🇩🇪😎
Rear end: “Vorsprung durch… f* this, I’m tired.”** 😂

Yep — the air suspension compressor had officially retired.

After nearly two decades of pumping air, it finally said:

“Mate, I’ve done enough. Drop the arse and call Eurojap.” 🤣

The result?

A luxury German SUV with the stance of a tradie’s ute after someone said, “Yeah mate, one more pallet should be fine.” 🧱😂

This Q7 wasn’t slammed.
It wasn’t on bags for Summernats.
And no, stance boys — this isn’t a feature. 💀

💦 AUDI SQ5 3.0T — CAME IN LEAKING, LEFT WITH AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM. 😈💨

When your driveway starts developing its own oil-based colour scheme, it’s probably time to stop pretending you haven’t noticed. 😂

This Audi SQ5 3.0T V6 rolled into Eurojap Autowerks with the renowned oil filter housing leak hiding down in the engine valley.

And yep… she wasn’t sweating horsepower. She was just marking every parking spot she visited. 🫠

Now here’s where we do things a little differently.

We could simply replace the failed plastic housing with another plastic housing, send it out the door and wait for years of heat cycles to potentially warp it all over again.

Sounds like a great business model…

Just not ours. 😏

So instead of repeating the problem, we upgraded the repair.

❌ Factory-style plastic housing
✅ Upgraded aluminium oil filter housing

Stronger construction, improved resistance to heat-related distortion and a much better long-term solution to a failure we already know too well.

Because at Eurojap, “that’s what it came with” doesn’t automatically mean “that’s what it has to leave with.” 👌

🔧 Sometimes a simple DIY turns into a “why doesn’t my window work anymore?” 😂

This Subaru WRX STI came into Eurojap Autowerks after the owner had a little play around with the side mirror. Nothing major… or so he thought. 👀

Shortly after, the window decided it had officially resigned from duty. 🪟❌

Once we removed the door trim, we already had a pretty good idea of what had happened — and sure enough, there it was.

The mirror wiring had been incorrectly routed and was now sitting directly in the path of the window mechanism. Every time that window tried to operate, it was basically preparing to turn the wiring loom into electrical spaghetti. 🍝⚡

Luckily, it came to us before the window tore through the wiring completely, potentially shorting the loom and turning a simple mistake into a much bigger electrical repair.

Wiring corrected ✅
Routing restored properly ✅
Window operation restored ✅
Potential electrical disaster avoided ✅

Moral of the story?

YouTube makes everything look like a 10-minute job… right up until your window starts trying to eat the wiring loom. 😂

🔧 BMW X6M — BIG V8, BIG POWER… DEFEATED BY A FEW TINY WIRES. 😂

This X6M rolled into Eurojap Autowerks with an electric tailgate that had officially resigned from its duties.

Press the button? Nothing.
Ask nicely? Nothing.
Threaten it with a trip to the dealership? Still nothing. 💀😂

Out came the diagnostic equipment and the HKFM tailgate module had more complaints than a customer who’s been told diagnostics aren’t free. 😏

Multiple faults for the right tailgate lift drive, Hall-effect sensors, shorts to ground, shorts to B+ and line disconnections.

Now this is usually where the guessing championships begin:

“Could be the lift motor…”
“Could be the module…”
“Let’s replace both and see what happens…” 💸💸💸

Yeah… nah. Not in our workshop.

A fault code is a clue, not a shopping list.

We went past the scan tool, broke out the proper testing equipment and followed the circuit until we found what was actually upsetting this X6M.

🎯 Damaged wiring inside the tailgate lift-drive assembly.

There it was — broken and damaged wiring causing the Hall-effect sensor circuits to lose their minds.

So rather than introducing the customer's bank account to the BMW parts catalogue, we repaired the actual problem.
