Long travel isn’t simply about making the suspension move further. It’s about maximising wheel travel while controlling it. Allowing the suspension to cycle freely over rough terrain without the chassis becoming unsettled or the driver constantly correcting the vehicle.

A lot of off-road suspension upgrades make significant changes in the name of insta-flex without properly considering the knock-on effects those changes have on-road. Geometry shifts, roll characteristics change, steering response alters — and the result can be something that looks impressive parked up but feels unsettled on bitumen.

You know the feeling. You carry a bit too much speed into a roundabout and suddenly it feels taller, looser and far less composed than it should — and your missus gives you that look.

We weren’t prepared to accept that compromise.
