Our new Friday attire is part of a powerful initiative to promote mental health awareness in the automotive industry. It’s a simple way to spark conversation and break the stigma.

🚘 Supported by Motor Trades Association of Queensland - MTAQ & Car Craft Accident Repair Centres, the campaigns powerful message ‘Don’t Shut the Bonnet on It’ is reminder that mental health is just as important as physical safety, encouraging us to check in on our mates, and speak up during the tough times.

✅ Each shirt purchased includes a donation to support TIACS (This is a conversation starter), a free professional counselling service supporting Australia’s blue collar community.

☕️ To keep the conversation going, every second Friday at Holmes we offer a free coffee van for our team, an open invitation to step away from the tools, grab a coffee, and have a chat. Because even five minutes of connection can make a big difference.

As Estimator, you will be at the forefront of our business and one of the first points of contact for our customers, therefore a friendly, professional demeanour with the ability to build rapport is vital to your success in this role. You will be a people-person, driven by customer interactions and ensuring positive outcomes.

In the position of Estimator you must have previous experience working in the smash repair industry and will be employed on a permanent full-time basis. Previous estimating experience will be highly regarded.

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

✅ Assessing of vehicles for both private and insurance related claims
✅ Ensuring accurate and complete record keeping and data entry
✅ Efficient parts pricing for estimates in a timely manner
✅ Providing timely and accurate estimations to customers and insurance companies
✅ Maintain awareness of insurer targets relating to customer service and cost areas
✅ Vehicle check-ins and customer liaison on arrival for vehicle repairs
✅ Ensuring the quality of vehicle repairs are to pre-accident condition prior to handover to customers
✅ Ensuring reporting and target requirements are met as directed by the Managing Director

You will also possess the following skills and attributes:

✅ Trade Qualification in either Panel Beating or Spray painting
✅ At least 5 years experience in the smash repair industry essential
✅ Previous experience in estimating preferred
✅ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with others
✅ Knowledge of the iBody shop program advantageous, but not essential
✅ Knowledge of Audanet program advantageous, but not essential
✅ Exceptional attention to detail
✅ Excellent time management skills
✅ Possess a strong work ethic
✅ Ability to work unsupervised
