HEAR THAT? … Neither can we....

You've seen the incredible news. The foghorn motor is running again for the first time in a while!

The response from our community has been overwhelming, and it's reminded us just how deeply the foghorn lives in people's hearts.

But we need your help to take the next step.

Before we can sound the foghorn, we must complete a safety inspection of the air tanks and inspect and repair the two air valves that allow it to operate. Without this work, regulations mean we simply cannot sound it, no matter how ready the motor is.

We're aiming to raise $2,000 to get this essential work done.

Every dollar brings us closer to that first magnificent blast across the Borough and Port Phillip.

If you grew up hearing it. If it meant fog was rolling in. If it's part of what this place means to you, please consider a donation today.

Everyone who donates will become a founding member of The Hornblowers and be personally invited to witness the first sounding of the foghorn, with a behind-the-scenes look inside the foghorn shed, a tour of the lighthouse and future events involving the Foghorn sounding.

Great to get the old Gardner running again on both cylinders after not running for a few years. Hopefully will be ready to sound the foghorn again during International Lighthouse Weekend in August. A massive thanks to Ted Harrold from Drysdale Trawler and Farming Services for his expeet knowledge

Come on down to Queenscliff Harbour this weekend to check out our boat building displays in the yard amongst the display boats as part of the Harbour to Horizon Maritime Festival.

Let the maritime festivities begin! Get down to Queenscliff Harbour this weekend and see the Alma Doepel at the Harbour to Horizon Festival. Family activities, boatbuilder displays, a tasting and cocktail trail, boat displays, the former Queenscliffe Lifeboat's 100th birthday, blessing of the fleet, escape room, live music, a sail past and yacht racing. Tours available of the Alma Doepel over the weekend as well. More details available from the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum website

This Sunday, March 1, we are kicking off the Harbour to Horizon Maritime Festival celebrating Queenscliff's deep connection to sea, science and story with Keith and Daniel Cayzer in conversation with Michael Cathcart. Their Cayzer Boats story of 4 generations of boatbuilders and the the people involved to shape those stories. 5 - 6.30 PM at the Boat Shed at QMM. A few tickets still remain so snap them up to help support the QMM and start off what will be a busy but fantastic maritime festival.
