We Did It! 30km Practice Walk Complete! 🥾🎉

30km is officially in the bag. I definitely underestimated those 30 kilometres, but it was the perfect practice walk to get me ready for the big Menslink Great Walk coming up in November! I pushed through and finished down near Oxley by my old stomping ground.

I am so incredibly exhausted, but my lovely wife has finally picked me up with the kids and the dog, and I am heading straight for a spa.

Thank you so much to everyone who reached out, donated, and supported me today. Huge shoutout to Dom and Jeff who donated while I was walking! Menslink does such crucial work for the young guys in our Canberra community, and every single donation helps a great cause.

Massive thanks again to Dennis and the crew at Tuff Trailers for making me walk this long. They are a fantastic local company. Keep an eye on my page, as my next video will be a dedicated shout out to them to show my appreciation!

Part 4: Only 7km Left to Go! 🥾🌧️

Hey everyone! Quick update from the track. We got a bit of rain, but I am pushing through. I am currently up at the end of Kambah Pool Road and heading towards the bottom of Mount Taylor for the final stretch.

Only 7km left! I am definitely feeling it now and my body is incredibly sore. I completely underestimated this one! I think a spa is calling my name once my lovely wife Lisa comes to pick me up at the finish line.

Part 3: 19km Down and Feeling It!

Well g'day guys! I’m nearly 19km into this 30km walk for Menslink, trekking the Bicentennial Trail. I’ll be honest, I completely underestimated this walk, and geez, I'm hurting! 😅

But I'm so glad I'm doing it. I have about an hour and a half to go, and all your calls, messages, and comments are giving me the exact push I need to keep moving. Please keep sending that love through the comments, I really appreciate it!

Part 2 of the 30km Walk for Menslink! 🥾🌲

Officially hit the Bicentennial Trail out the back of Bonython and Pine Island, and I’m 7.5km in!

It’s turned into an absolutely beautiful day out here. The vest has come off as I'm starting to warm up, and I'm just taking in the nature. I saw a couple of sparrows jumping in a puddle earlier, it’s those simple things that really make you present in the moment.

This walk is doing wonders, not just as a massive push to get my fitness back, but for the mind. I’ve had some great moments of reflection today, just listening to some music, thinking about life, and enjoying the trail.

Not too long ago I said if someone threw down $500 for Menslink in a single donation, I’d lock in a 30km walk.

Dennis and the team at Tuff Trailers went one better and put up $1,000, so I had to deliver!

Kicked things off from Point Hut Crossing down toward Kambah Pool along the Murrumbidgee. Borrowed my daughter’s backpack, packed some water, fruit, and protein bars, and hit the track.

Menslink does incredible work for young blokes around Canberra. I know times are tough for a lot of people right now, but if you’ve got a few spare dollars to chip in, any donation makes a massive difference for them.

G'day everyone! Gaz here from APLUS Towing. 🚛👋

This November 10th, I’m stepping up for an absolutely amazing cause: I'll be participating in a walk to support Menslink, an incredible organization dedicated to helping young men right here in Canberra.

I know first-hand what it means to have support and mentorship. I was very lucky to have guidance that helped me grow my business and develop into the father and business owner I am today. Now, it's my turn to give back to the community that has given so much to me, and help shape the next generation of good men and entrepreneurs.

🎯 The Goal: I'm aiming to raise $10,000, and I need your support to get there!

🔥 The Challenge: To kick things off, I’m throwing down a challenge. Why Gary is taking on the Menslink Great Walk... 👟

At APLUS Towing, we’re out on the roads every day, seeing firsthand how important a strong, supportive community really is.
For Gary, taking on a multi-day trek isn’t just about testing his endurance, it’s about giving back to the local community that’s supported our family business for years.

Young guys in our area face a lot of unique pressures today. Menslink provides completely free counselling, mentoring, and school programs to help young men navigate tough times. Having a mentor or a safe space to talk can and does save lives, and Gary wants to make sure those resources stay free for every local family who needs them.

We’re aiming to raise $10,000, and every single dollar helps keep these services running.
