CLUTCH & IGNITION COVERS
At Carbonteck we only manufacture clutch / ignition covers that are attached to your bike with silicone and not bolt-on covers. The reason for this is that a boltton cover is only a dust cover and will only protect against scratches. With a bolt-on cover – on high impact – the impact will go right through the carbon cover and crack or break the aluminium cover with pieces flying everywhere causing potentially major damage. With a Carbonteck cover fitted with the correct silicon in the correct way, a high impact on the aluminium cover might crack or break it, but there will be no leak damage and all the broken pieces will stay intact. We have asked an engineer at the University of Stellenbosch to test 5 of our covers to see how strong our product is. The results were outstanding. Consequently we can confidently offer our product. We use the same infusing technique as with our exhaust guards but we use a different epoxy.
KEVLAR EXHAUST GUARDS
Our carbon kevlar exhaust guards are manufactured with a process called vacuum bag infusing. Inside the part you will find 2 layers of 170g twirl carbon, 1 layer of Kevlar, 4 layers of 600g biaxl glass and 1 layer of 400g twirl glass. All these materials get vacuumed in a mould at 1 ton per square foot and then infused with high heat epoxy from a company in France. After infusing the part gets post cured with the mould in a oven for 5 hours. After demoulding, the part goes back in the oven for another 12 hours until TG is reached. The part then gets trimmed and special high heat silicone strips get attached on the inside. The purpose of the strips is to create a cushion between the pipe and the guard and to create a gap between the pipe and the guard for air so that the pipe runs cooler. This is a very expensive manufacturing process but the end result is a super strong guard and super light guard for your fragile pipe. The final product weighs only 700 grams.
RADIATOR BRACES
Radiator braces are made from 6mm 6082 aluminium and are anodised black. The round bar that supports the plates is made from 14mm 6061 T6 structural aluminium. All holes are countersunk for flush mount and all fixing screws are stainless steel. The braces also come standard with fan brackets. You just need to bolt this on your standard OEM fan. The radiator braces cover the full width of the radiator and is longer at the bottom for the ultimate protection. Our braces are manufactured for the extreme rider and were tested at the most extreme races in the world like Romaniacs and the Roof of Africa. This is by far the best radiator braces for your bike.
BASH PLATES
Our bashplates are manufactured from 8mm HDPE. The bashplates are CNC machined and then thermo formed in shape. The fixing brackets are from 15mm HDPE and are CNC machined. A steel insert is insert into the brackets so that the bolts don’t pull out. All the fixing bolts are stainless steel. On the bottom of the bashplate everything is smooth with no bolts sticking out. A CNC machined aluminium washer is inserted on the bottom fixing points so that the stainless steel countersunk bolts can be flush with the bashplate. The 65 and 85 bashplates are made from 6mm HDPE.

LINKAGE PROTECTORS
Linkage protectors are made from 10mm 6082 aluminium. The round bars that support the plate is made from 14mm 6061 T6 structural aluminium. All holes are countersunk for flush mount and all fixing screws are stainless steel. Tested by pro riders at The Roof of Africa.
