Watching Vice Grip Garage where ol Derek goes to all different places throughout America to revive old cars that he’s bought sight unseen and usually laying dormant for years full of rat s**t and no brakes. He then gets these classics running and driving then has the adventure of driving them hundreds of miles back home with of course his fair share of issues breakdowns along the way. It brings back fond memories of my trip east back in 07 to collect my EH Ute and drive it back home over 3000 kms. With a handful of tools and consumables myself and my good mate Peter ( may he rest in peace) had the trip of a lifetime seeing places that I would otherwise never get to see. I’d do it all over again!

Back in the day when they were a dime a dozen! One of our earliest builds back in the early 90’s. Mate bought it as a yellow six cylinder Continental with the trusty 3 on a tree. After a minor road mishap rebuilt it with GT bits a healthy 302 backed by a 4 speed manual then a 5 speed from an XF Falcon then finally the bulletproof C4. He loved the vinyl roof that it originally came out of the factory with so a new one was fitted along with reupholstered Landau interior.
She certainly went like a shower of s”&$t but didn’t get the street cred it would have had if it was done today. Like I said a dime a dozen.
I am a Holden man through and through however I do love my old Fords just as much which makes me somewhat of a car enthusiast!

Well my good mate Pistol Pete at Hillbilly Performance Fabrication & Cutlery has built me a tough 202 for the EH Ute. When he asked me about a colour for the engine I told him it had to be Tartan Turquoise of course to match. I know how much Pistol dislikes my choice in colour so he told me that he will find a perfect colour match. Today he sent me a couple of teasers and I have to say he did well! And it’s a Chrysler old school blue! Can’t wait to get the finished product installed soon!
