Friday’s first job off the rank !! When it came to the oil filter removal 😳 bu**er me , there’s no room to spin off the filter due to lack of clearance. 🤔 that’s the original Kohler filter . Current owner who’s only just purchased it . Would had a bu**er of time to do it himself . Engine bolts had to be undone and the left Hyd cylinder had to be moved out of the way the engine could be lifted up about 10mm. If replacing the oil filter make sure you’ve got the short series type .

A brand of post hole digger , which I think might have been a toro brand ? Someone out there may what this is ?
It’s been camped outside for years & years , due to the hoses being perished , and couplings rusted together, we replaced all those for new dingo style. The original hoses were 3/8 , so we changed the male adapter fittings up too a 1/2 BSPP x 7/8 JIC and went up to the 1/2 inch APU015 dingo type hoses .

A K93K AWD which is in for a quite a large birthday , one of the tricky jobs was a constant Hyd oil from around the welded b**g spigot out of the Hyd tank .

I suspect that the maybe the plug end has likely struck / bottomed out on something , and stressed the weld ? .

So out with oil , swing the machine on its nose ( handy having a forklift ) clean out inside the tank , prep the area around drain spigot , removed the powder coating with an air grinder , and used a repair kit normally associated with fuel tanks repairs . This cured over the weekend . So oil back in late this arvo . So I’ll check tomorrow to see if the repair has been successful or not ? 🙏

The oil burn off begins from the muffler

Today's job is a Dingo K94Y with a 27hp Yanmar 3TNV76, which was involved in a rollover / flip backwards yesterday. The client rang to inform me what had happened and what course of action was needed to check the machine over. The air box was damaged and the air filters were full of oil. This was treated as a potential hydraulic lock, so a "do not start" instruction was given. The unit was lifted by a Hiab and arrived at our shop later on Wednesday afternoon. After sitting overnight, I checked crank rotation with a 17mm socket off the front crank pulley and found that it was locked. After removing the rocker cover and three glow plugs, it turned out the rear cylinder was the only one with oil, which was over the glow plug tip. With a few jogs of the engine, we were able to expel the engine oil. After everything was cleaned and prepped, the glow plugs and rocker cover were installed back onto the engine. Now the fun starts, as we know the muffler will have a fair amount of oil inside, which will require burning off. We proceeded to get it hot, and sure enough, it belched a ton of smoke, to the point that neighbours in nearby factory units came over to see what was going on. It took around 15-20 minutes for it to clear.
