I’ve known about this machine’s condition for over a year in its current state . Arms / mount plate etc . Still not nice to see in this condition . Amazingly the Kohler engine starts first turn of the key 😳 the brief is give it a birthday 🎁
Customer purchased new arms , which we’ve had stored in our racking for a year or more !! New cast mount plates we have in our Perth stock .

This 1/2 pressure hose off the pump , has seen better days 😳 . I’m surprised it hasn’t burst wide open ? Anyways a new one is going on 😊

A older k94 Y Pro 2007 year of build with the yanmar 3TNV76 engine was through our workshop earlier in the Week for a standard engine service . Filters / oil etc .
Also client reports that the pump is leaking oil , on closer inspection it’s the original Hyd pump from 2007 , and it’s due for replacement, multiple points oil is coming from , end plates / out put shaft / tie bolts .
The pump flexdrive plate on the flywheel & splined drive boss on the pump shaft have seen better days . So they were both replaced as well due to wear , 3500 plus machine hrs .
Swapped the fittings over to the new pump with fresh viton orings on the suction & pressure elbows . And in goes a new pump , fresh Hyd filter , hydraulic oil .

This K93-P AWD I mentioned in an earlier post was a perkins 20Hp model , which we converted over to Kohler 23 hp petrol in 2019 , after the engine toasted itself . A few issues we came across was the position of the Overcentre valve block , and its position in the chassis .

As a rule the Kohler tail pipe would normally trunk out through the chassis opening near the left rear wheel as you stand . This valve block stopped that normal set up .
So a bit of flexi exhaust tubing , we poked it out in front of the lift cylinder .
It’s held together ok after 7 years of use . Heat shield lagging a bit Tatty , but still doing its thing . 😎

Battery also sitting on a small support frame / mount .

A Dingo in for repairs . The standard issue we see all the time , the protective rubber boot cover that sits over the lever control caps , where the handles protrude through .

This boot has split / perished from the elements . Which has allowed water enter under the control cap , and over time , has pitted / rusted these little indentations on the hydraulic spool surface . This spool is buggered .

This was originally a k93 perkins diesel , until original customer cooked the engine. They decided not to go ahead with repairs . We purchased it , and converted it to a petrol powered Kohler v twin . Engine was the dingo spec CH680-3096 model . We sold it in 2019 . It’s come back again , to sort out a charging issue .

Hence we need to remove the flywheel to clean out the debris / dust , check magnets and inspect 15amp charging stator , it’s flagging up as not having any continuity! . We clean out the 4 tapped holes with 5/16 tap . We the use a little pullers we’ve had a bunch made up which is so simple too use to extract the flywheel off the tapered crank shaft . Next post small vid on removal !

A k94 pro 27hp yanmar also into the workshop, will a serious hydraulic leak . This machine must have been an early k94 pro III off the line when dingo morphed across from the K94Y II 25hp yanmar onto the k94 pro series dingo they’ve used up the last cast aluminium flywheel cover plates from factory stock .

These never came with a drain port on the bottom portion of the cover plate .
( we drilled that hole in today to drain the excess hydraulic oil which had accumulated into the bell housing , due to the pump failing and filling up void . On odd occasions on the older k94 II oil use to run out of where the starter motor bolts into .
Anyone with the newer type k94 pro / K95 / K9D Wacker Neuson dingo with the black bell housing cover plates all should have a small hole on the lower 6 o’clock position .
Fitting a new Hydraulic pump for this repair 👍

A customer dropped off a Kohler flywheel from a Toro 323 4 paw mini skid steer . All 6 magnets totalled ! Charging stator also toast ! So we’ve prepped the flywheel for new replacement magnets .
So this Kohler engine will live again

Tech Tip , ideally every 400 hrs it’s worth pulling the flywheel off these Kohler engines to remove the debris that builds up around the flywheel magnets . And also wriggle each magnet to confirm that the adhesive is still holding the magnets in position ? If loose prep and clean up area and reattach ( JP weld ) or another appropriate brand of adhesive.

Of course if you hear that funny metal on metal squeaking sound as the engine is turned off , and crank shaft comes to its stop ! 100% there’s a loose magnet or two ..skipping across the charging stator posts . 😳 catch it early !!!!
Happy digging ☺️
