Meanwhile, in Australia have just OUTSOLD petrol cars 👍
27,000+ battery sold.
24.9% of ALL new car sales.
Petrol 26,000.
Diesel 23,600.
Perhaps even more telling is how quickly things have changed.
Just four years ago, accounted for less than 2% of Australian new car sales.
Last year it was around 8%.
Yet in August 2026 it now at 24.9% and more popular than petrol.
The Tesla Model Y was the best-selling new car of ANY kind, with more than 6,400 sold.
Australia was considered an EV laggard not that long ago.
Now EVs have overtaken petrol.
But never forget…
