Well what have I been up to last week. A Landrover S2a pos earth diesel harness on Monday/Tuesday. Trying to get my Honda 250 to run on both cylinder properly without misfiring, getting some paint on the EJ ute and fitting a centre stand to a Vinnie. Oh yes then a lovely 86yr old gentleman arrived with his daughter in law clutching a 6V +ve earth SU fuel pump that had stopped working. 30 mins later he is on his way with the fuel pump happily clicking away as it should. Just needed a bit of adjustment, points cleaning and a good clean out. he was very happy. This is his mid 30s Morris 8 he has owned for many many years

So another busy week in the workshop. MGTF wiring harness was first cab off the rank, then onto the Morris minor ute, prepping the body for paintwork, and finally after what seems weeks of blocking back the primer I now have some paint on the EJ ute. In the background my little Honda Cb250K4 is giving me grief. It runs and starts and idles but that's about it. So after stuffing the cam up and getting a good one from USA and an engine strip and rebuild, new jets in the carb, quadruple checking valve and ignition timing..........its running again, but is so rich. Plan D is rebuild one of the spare sets of carbs I have and see if that makes a difference. I am not convinced tho. Time will tell

From this to this and about 6 months work on and off. Well I think its just about finished. Just waiting on a couple of nuts and bolts to replace incorrect ones and a flasher relay as the old one doesn't work. Next week we will try and getting it running. Tested all the electrics and my wiring harness works as it should. Might get to ride it next week. Been 53 yrs since I last rode one. Watch this space

Chrome plating is back from Bali. Excellent job. So the bike is going back to together. Connected up all the wiring and so far all seems to be doing what it should.....so the harness I made was bloody good. It should be its what i do for a living haha. So refitting all the newly chromed parts as well. Almost as good as the bike I bought brand new from Wilderspins in Biggleswade in 1973. Still have to set up front and rear brakes, gear lever and kickstart lever and clutch. Then should be good to try and start watch this space!!!

A busy week this week. Spent most of it working on the EH cab and bulkeads. Spot filling rust pitting where subframe bolts to body, masking it all up and spraying 5 coats hi fill. Next mission is to block it all back ready for painting it.............the bit i dislike most
