A brief look at a upgrade we worked on at the end of last year. The rider mainly uses the offroad. The upgrades provided have firmed up the suspension, making it easier and safer to ride the bike the way it was meant to be ridden. One thing you'll have learned from our channel - the Australian rider and the Australian conditions are unlike any other in the world. Most companies overseas say that if the wheels leave the ground, that's classified as motocross. Here in Australia, the tracks are made to jump, the drain spoons and gullies and rocks are so numerous and large that motocross is just another Saturday out with on the trails.

Anyone who’s adjusted rear shock preload the old-fashioned way knows the routine - C-spanner, hammer, punch, scraped knuckles… and usually a fair bit of swearing.

The XTRIG Preload Adjuster replaces the traditional locking rings with a far cleaner mechanical adjuster, making spring preload changes quicker, easier and much more precise.

Instead of fighting the shock collar every time you want to alter sag, you simply turn the adjuster and move the spring preload where you need it.

Perfect for riders who regularly change setup, rider weight or track conditions — and for anyone who’s had enough of attacking their shock with a hammer.

There’s a point where a bike stops feeling like something you’re adapting to — and starts feeling like it’s working with you.

Your ESA shock isn't leaving our workshop without being thoroughly tested first.

Here, we're dyno testing a shock fitted with a TracTive remote ESA adjuster, checking its performance before it goes back on the bike.

At Teknik, every shock and fork gets tested before we fit it or send it out. We've invested in the specialist equipment to measure what the suspension is actually doing, not just what we think it's doing.

Getting the job done is one thing. Knowing it's right is another. Our tests are repeatable and identical for every shock, so we set the standard and keep it.

Adventure bikes are built to keep going long after the smooth road ends.
But once you start pushing a BMW F 850 GS Adventure through corrugations, rough tracks, loaded touring and bigger hits, suspension control becomes just as important as suspension travel.

The TracTive X-TREME Fork Cartridge Kit upgrades the factory fork internals with a closed, pressurised cartridge system designed to deliver more consistent damping and better control when conditions get rough.

With rebound and preload adjustment, the front end can be set up around the rider, luggage and terrain — while the hydraulic end-stop helps manage those harder impacts when you start using the full travel.

The result isn’t simply a firmer front end.

It’s a more controlled, predictable and tuneable suspension setup for riders who actually use their GS Adventure the way it was intended.
