A photo dump of what we have been working on lately.
Tasked to turbocharge this XY using, not 1 but 2 Turbosmart 8280 turbos.
We have modified/enlargened the inlets/outlets of the supplied PWR Advanced Cooling Technology intercooler to suit Hypertune hyperclamps and mounted it.
Fabricated a couple of custom mounts to locate the turbos and additional support from the turbo manifold. Probably excessive to weave the welds for the brackets but it looks pretty đŸ˜‚
Modified the compressor outlets to connect directly to the modified intercooler inlets
With the location of the turbos set, next up is the manifolds.

Made some mirror base plates on this VB to suit GT3 carbon mirrors.
Made from 4mm alloy, we followed the same shape of the OEM Mirror base plate and body contours. New rubber seals and all threads are tapped for easy installation and removal if need be.

- Weld gate fl**ge to manifold
- 2 piece 3.5" down pipe with flex pipe.
- Plumb back the wastegate.
- 3" downpipe back exhaust using a SP Mufflers big boy rear cannon with a 4.5" tip
- Custom exhaust mount
- Weld elbow to compressor cover
- 1 piece hot side cooler pipe
- Intake pipe.

In and out within few days. Cya later.

It's not a street car without air conditioning.
Rear mounted AC setup is nearly at its completion on our
Electric AC pump mounted inside the rear bumper bar / behind the rear wheel.
AC condenser mounted under the wheel well with a Maradyne 12" fan.
We also machined a slot in our ASR Subframe brace and created an air chute to guide air through the condenser while driving.

We also made up alloy hard lines for the AC system and stainless Fuel lines that follow the OEM body lines. Custom hard line retainers / brackets were also made to suit.

Next is making the braided lines for the fuel system and soft lines for the AC system.

In addition to our last post on the turbo intercooler.
When it comes to intercoolers, there is a difference.
On the right is what came off the car, an aeroflow unit. You can see straight through to the core with ease, barely any cooling efficiency and after a few passes, it starts to become inefficient and you'll start losing power.
On the left is our cooler of choice, Hypertune
With a greater cooling efficiency fin and core design it will keep your intake temperatures to a minimum in the most demanding situations.
From street, drag, drift or circuit racing will have an intercooler suited to your needs.
Available in multiple thicknesses / sizes / cast, billet or custom end tanks.

Good ol turbo.
Our first love with turbocharged cars,
This car originally came in for cooler pipes, next minute we are fabricating a custom back door .
Using a Hypertune core and cast end tanks.
All fitted with a couple millimetres of clearance and within the OEM unmodified crash bar.
Even with a bigger cooler, minimal.trimming of lower grille area the bumper fitment is better than ever.
With shorter piping and an intercooler that is wider, thicker and has more cooling efficiency (more on this on our next post) this bseries should be loving boost a little bit more.

The last piece of the puzzle on the headers we produced last week in our previous post.
It may look like a straight piece of tube but it does have a 6 degree bend on it.
