We know our posts are usually about trucks, tyres and wheel alignments, but today is an important day that deserves a little space on our page.

R U OK? was founded by Gavin Larkin in 2009, inspired by the loss of his father, Barry, to su***de. Sadly in 2011, Gavin passed away from cancer and two years later, his 15 year old son Gus also passed away from a brain tumour.

It’s hard to imagine the amount of grief and loss the Larkin family has endured.

Their story is a powerful reminder of why this message matters.

A simple meaningful conversation really can make all the difference. You dont need to have all the answers, you just need to be able to lend an ear.

So today check in with your mates, family and colleagues. Ask the question - R U OK?

And remember - it can take a lot for someone to open up. If someone trusts you with something personal, respect that trust and keep it confidential (unless someone’s safety is at risk) 

Not knowing who to trust is often why people keep walking around with their mask on, pretending they’re ok.
