🚗 N80 Hilux Shock Overhaul – The Importance of Regular Maintenance! 🚗

This N80 Hilux came in with a lower strut bearing rattle. Upon inspection, we found the bearing had completely collapsed, causing damage to the spacers and bolt.

Given the high kilometers and lack of prior servicing, we recommended and carried out a full shock overhaul. Here's what we did:
✅ Replaced the damaged bolt and machined new spacers.
✅ Replaced both bearings.
✅ Full Shock Overhall/Service
✅ Corrected the ride height for optimal performance.

🔍 Key Findings:

Significant fluid aeration and oil discoloration.
Oil and nitrogen had bypassed the floating piston, mixing together.
Oil breakdown contributed to poor ride quality and handling.

The takeaway? Regular maintenance and servicing can prevent costly damage, improve performance, and ensure a smoother ride.
