Hey folks šŸ‘‹
About time I posted again I reckonšŸ¤”

I’m still here and never stopped building, just paused the advertising for a bit.
A few personal reasons.. But also, with 20 years experience (the last 8 at the Helm of this business) word of mouth has kept me busy and advertising has not been necessary..
I know I have a some of you lovely people to thank for that. It’s always appreciated but never expected so thank you šŸ™ā˜ŗļø

Anyway, after 4 years I have plenty of posting to catch up on so here’s one I completed around this time last year.

2023 Fiat Ducato Maxi.
As usual the first few photos are how I received the vehicle, and the rest are the finished product. This one was brand new so nice and clean😊
Custom built for a solo traveller to their design with some guidance from me..

2015 Mercedes Sprinter MWB/Standard roof ex ambulance.

Hi all😊 Hope everyone is doing well, all things consideredšŸ˜ Business as usual for me, but due to extended wait times with new vehicles arriving some of my future clients have had to push back their start dates. So because I can’t do much other than work, I now have a spot for a conversion this year. That means that as of now I can complete 1 more large build before Christmas, but I anticipate it won’t be available for long so first in best dressed!

Anyway, here’s another custom build from earlier this year that’s a bit different and pretty cool šŸ˜Ž
The first couple of photos are how I received it. I then stripped it back to bare bones and the rest are of the ā€œmostly finishedā€ product. The unique bed system allows for a full size double bed that can fold away to allow for dedicated dining. The rear section is also multi adjustable to act as a day lounge. It also still retains the lift up front section for large storage under.
So it ends up being a whole lot of Motorhome on a medium wheelbase platform.
The photos were taken before a few minor aesthetic components arrived due to delays on some products… Just incase any keen eyes were wonderingšŸ˜‰

Thank you all for your continued support and stay safeā¤ļø

1986 Toyota Coaster
This build was as enjoyable as it was challenging! The near new condition this was in when it arrived was like stepping back in time! And the kms on it were ridiculously low!! I almost felt bad about stripping and cutting into it... Almost😊
A lot went into getting the design on this to come together. Every time I thought I had it all figured out, a component that could only be fitted in one particular spot would throw another curve ball at me! But I’m really happy with how this turned out, and it’s certainly one I could see myself traveling in.... If I ever got a day offšŸ˜
I particularly like the king size bed. When you’re trying to fit all the creature comforts of a house into such a compact space, you do have to compromise and even make certain sacrifices... But after a long day on the open road, a good nights rest is something I personally wouldn’t compromise on. In my opinion, should at the forefront of any good Motorhome design. But I do custom build, so the design is ultimately up to you, with some guidance from me if required.

Thank you for checking out my workšŸ™ If you like what you see please don’t forget to give my page a like. I don’t post everything I do, I just choose one I think might be worth a look every few months. I usually only put one up when my waiting list for conversions falls below 6 months, because I don’t like advertising if I’m booked out too far in advance. So I won’t interrupt your news feed too often! šŸ˜‰šŸ˜Š

Mercedes Sprinter Transfer.. Restoration/Redesign.

So I inherited this one from another company. It came to them as an insurance job after the water pump failed and caused severe water damage to a lot of the cabinetry. After the initial assessment was done and the severity realized, the clients decided to pay the difference for the whole interior to be redone. So one thing led to another and the other company approached me to take it on.
I was a bit hesitant to take this on to start with because I don’t like to start a job without providing a fixed quote first. And because this was quite an old conversion and not knowing what I would find when I started pulling it apart, I wasn’t able to do that. But I explained to the clients about the unknown elements which were mostly wiring and plumbing. I would have to see what was safe, what I could work with, and then give them an additional price for the things that weren’t up to scratch. I ended up being able to save most of the plumbing, but the wiring was nothing short of dangerous the way it was originally installed, and was also showing signs of age. So I decided to rip it all out and start again..
Replacing the dull grey cabinetry with something lite weight and modern made a big difference to the appearance, but swapping out the original grey bus lining on the walls and ceiling with a modern white hard surface made a massive difference to the end result!

So it was a bit left field from the ā€œclean slateā€ vehicles I usually put this amount of work into, and it wasn’t without its challengesšŸ¤” šŸ’šŸ˜
But it’s a whole new vehicle now and ready to start life over again with the clients that weren’t going to let a bit of water damage spoil their retirement😊

Mercedes Sprinter MWB 4X4 (ex ambulance)

This build was a little different from most I do in that the client didn’t just have a rough idea, but had done a lot of research and had thought out a very specific plan of what they wanted. So much so, they had the confidence to do the Pre-wiring and plumbing to suit their design before I’d even met them! Quite a risk to take when you’re hoping to find someone who is not only capable, but willing to work to your design.
But this was a pretty straightforward build for me. There were a couple of minor tweaks here and there as it started to come together, but the design was well thought out and turned out great!
The first 3 photos are how it arrived.
The client had the fiberglass high roof conversion, shower module and accessories fitted before he brought it to me.

2003 Mercedes Sprinter Transfer Bus

This was finished way back at the beginning of the year. But because I’d had a run of Transfer model vans, I decided to hang on to this one for a while and put it up after I’d done a few different ones. (Hoping to keep you all mildly entertainedšŸ˜‰) Even tho the one before this is another Transfer, they’re very different designs and colour schemes. I know the client has been waiting patiently for it to be posted up, so here it is! The photos tell the story pretty well I think, so no need for a shopping list this time! It has all the usual components to allow for on site or off grid Motor-homing. As always, it was totally custom built to suit the clients needs. And as usual, it wasn’t without it’s challenges! But Im really happy with how it turned out, and the client was rapt.... Which to me, is really all that matters😊

1999 Mercedes Sprinters Transfer Bus

Designed with the intention of living almost entirely ā€œOff Gridā€ or free camping, with the occasional visit to a powered site.

This has a massive amount of Solar.
A large Inverter to run all of the 240 volt power.
Generous Battery Capacity.
Gas Cooking.
Gas Instantaneous Hot Water.
And a Diesel Heater for the cooler months.

This client had a very specific design in mind when we met, and supplied me with detailed drawings and lists of components he required.

He supplied most of the major components for the 12V power system and detailed instructions of how he wanted it set up.

As per usual I had to tweak the design here and there, and make a couple of subtle changes to bring it all together and work as intended.
But he ended up with the van he designed with no major design changes.

This project turned out to be more challenging than I originally anticipated and there were a few ā€œhow am I going to fit that thereā€ momentsšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø But I always find a way, and was very happy with the end result. More importantly, the client was all smiles on delivery day😊

Toyota HiAce LWB ā€œMini Motorhomeā€

This van was built with the intention of only travelling between holiday parks with powered sites. The customer wasn’t going to be doing any free camping so things like solar, water, and gas weren’t required. But with the D/C-D/C charger and large battery capacity (240A/H) you could still free camp for a couple of days and more importantly, have the fridge running while your travelling without any power issues.

By adding the Drive away Annex-Awning for living space, I was able to fit a Queen size Bed, good size Fridge, and Microwave with plenty of storage space while still feeling open and not claustrophobic inside.
Reverse cycle Aircon is something I don’t normally fit on a van this size. But when it’s all set up, having an Air Conditioned tent is pretty awesome! With the van being fully insulated and lined throughout, the A/C will only be needed during the hotter and cooler months or for climate control in the Annex.

And when the Annex is set up, there’s more total living space than most large Motorhomes. But in less than 5 minutes you can unhook the Annex and Power, wind the Antenna down and your off for the day in a standard size car.

2009 Mercedes Sprinter-Transfer LWB/High roof

Another Adventure Motorhome Conversions build, custom designed specifically to suit the owners requirements.

*The first 5 photos are of how the van looked when it showed up. Someone had ā€œattemptedā€ to fit roof racks, solar panels, and a few other things🤬🤯 But I fixed that!!

This customer came in with a plan that at first seemed like a pretty straight forward build, but quickly evolved into something quite unique and pretty cool!

He wanted a permanent double bed in the back (East/West sleeping) and a U shape lounge in front. Pretty straight forward right? Wrong!!šŸ™ƒ
He wanted to leave the bed permanently made, but also have the option to be able to store a Standup Paddle Board and a Kayak inside.
Yeah, no problem I saidšŸ‘šŸ˜‰

Then a few weeks later he drops the van off, I open the door and there’s a paddle board in there.., A very large paddle board šŸ˜–šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

It proved quite tricky to get the bed high enough but not too high, keep the ā€œTransformer Loungeā€ as user friendly as possible, and leave enough room to move when the board and kayak are inside without sacrificing too much cupboard space up front.

The rest of the build was reasonably straight forward with a lot of the usual bits and pieces included.
There’s a sneaky subwoofer under the bed and one or two other things you may or may not notice!

A couple of changes Specific to this van,

All of the windows were fixed (non opening), so I replaced the sliding door window and 1 rear window with opening windows and mesh screens.
I also shortened the original fold down access step so it would work with the design.

Another happy customer rolls out the door and it’s on to the next one for me! Stay tuned 😊

2016 Mercedes Sprinter LWB High Roof

Another ā€œ1 of 1ā€ custom Adventure Motorhome Conversions build!

The customer gave me a general idea of the basic layout and colour scheme he wanted, but left most of the creative design for me to figure out.

This is the end result, and I couldn’t be happier with it!

A very functional Motorhome with everything he needs and nothing he doesn’t!

This is what I do. You design your ideal Motorhome (with my guidance if required) and I’ll build it for you.
I don’t have standard floor plans with fancy model names. You get to name your one of a kind Motorhome whatever you like😊
I’m not a salesman, I’m a tradesman!
I won’t try and sell you something you don’t need.
In fact, I find I’m often talking people out of things I think they won’t need or use.
I’m happy to build your Motorhome however you would like it.
I’ll always point out if I think something might effect resale down the track, or if you simply may not need need it!
But the final decision is always yours!šŸ˜‰

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Easter 🐣

I’ve certainly hit the ground running this year. And with it not looking like slowing down anytime soon, I’m putting in a few hours today (in between shifts at the fire station šŸš’)
to try and keep on top of it. The joys of having a small business... rather be at the beachšŸ˜‚
Enjoy the sunshine guys, and take it easy on the road!! Especially if you’re around Ryde tomorrowšŸ˜‰
