Marine Mechanic/Technician

We are looking for the right person to join our talented award-winning Volvo Penta Dealership Team.

Our business is privately owned and is recognised as Perth’s leading Volvo Penta specialist in the marine industry.

We have factory trained Technicians along with specialised Volvo Penta tooling catering for the latest advanced Volvo Penta technology.

The services our business offers cover a range of activities including but not limited to

- Servicing, maintenance, repairs and rebuilds to a variety of marine engines
-IPS, Inboard, Sterndrive and Saildrive servicing, repairs and rebuilds
- Computer diagnostics and repair of faults on engines and electrical components
- Pre-Purchase inspection including sea-trials

What is important to us

- You are a skilled and qualified mechanic or mechanical fitter with a desire to work in the marine industry
- You are a consistent team member with strong communication skills
- You are motivated and extremely reliable with a good sense of urgency
- You have a flexible approach to work and desire to get the job done
- You are happy to be trained and become a Volvo Penta Specialist

RMP Service are currently looking to recruit a talented experienced qualified mechanical fitter to join our award-winning Volvo Penta Dealership team.

Our business specialises in the marine industry and although you may not necessarily have previous experience in this industry, we are looking for the right person that has an interest and desire to perhaps experience something different which will be supported by specialised training.

The duties covered in the role will include:

- Servicing, maintenance and repairs to a variety of marine engines and propulsion systems
- Computer diagnostic and repair
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Usage of hand, power and specialised Volvo Penta tooling
- General workshop duties

What’s important to us:

- You are a skilled and qualified mechanical fitter
- You are a consistent team player
- You are motivated and extremely reliable
- You will be willing to work outside business hours to meet deadlines should the need arise


What we would like you to bring to our company:

This afternoon Resolute brought this big unit back from Carnac Island after her props got fouled by a rope.
In the strong south wester Resolute reminded us why she punches well above her weight!

On a beautiful Friday, we have the pleasure of doing sea trials on this impressive Riviera 51FB hull number 19 with Triple Volvo Penta IPS 600s pushing her to 30 knots.

HOME SAFE
We are so thankful these quick thinking sailors were wearing their life jackets and able to activate their EPIRB after their 9.7m trimaran was upturned this afternoon west of Garden Island. They are now safe, well and most importantly going home to their families.

This once again highlights the importance of having all of the correct saftey equipment onboard so rescuers, both in the air and on the water, can find you.

Incredibly R100’s speed did not drop below 25kn during the trip from Fremantle, despite today’s atrocious conditions where gusts of over 35kn and 3.6m seas were recorded.

Today’s incredible outcome was thanks to a true team effort with Western Australia Police Force coordinating the search from Water Police Base and Department of Fire and Emergency Services Rescue 651 who were first to spot the vessel from the air and guided R100 to the location.
