Today’s Memorial Run for Mick Cassar had us all filled with mixed emotions. The weather was ideal for the event and being able to catch up with mates of old and old mates on Mick was truly special.

There were approximately 55 vehicles on this run today and near twice as many people from at least 4 different clubs and we all had several things in common. Foremost today was respect for Mick. I would like to say the day was perfect, but we all knew it wasn’t, not without Mick.

I hope the clear skies gave him an unhindered view of us all and a bunch of his cars still rolling down the road. Rest in Peace Mick, your smile and conversation is missed by many.

You could easily mistake today for the middle of summer at the Apex Steel Muscle Car Masters at Eastern Creek. The beautiful weather was perfect for enjoying the racing action and taking our cars onto the track for a parade lap. It’s a great event for seeing impressive race cars up close or simply relaxing on the hill or in the grandstand.

Falcon GT Owners Club of formalities are few on a day like today, but as always, we had the car of the run and when our club member Charlie turns up with his Surfer Orange Phase 3, Electric Blue Phase 2 and Diamond white GTHO aka. Phase 1, you make it “Cars of the Run”. Seeing 3 generations of the family enjoying these cars is an absolute pleasure too. Our parade lap was 12:55pm and that well very smoothly making for a nice lunch break for some and conclusion to the day for others.

If you have never been to a Muscle Car Masters I highly recommend it, I know we will be there next year, so if you do, pop in and say g’day. For now, though I hope you like the photos and as always, I hope to….
